She met his dark heated eyes. His expression was fierce, breath harsh, merging with her. She broke on a low scream, an explosion of sensation ripping through her. He pumped into her again and again, rocking her with more shock waves of pleasure before his own release on a low groan. He collapsed on top of her.

Still shaky, her legs quivering, she hugged him tight to her.

After a few moments, he lifted his head and kissed her, his hand holding her jaw. He lingered for a longer kiss, gentler now in the aftermath. He broke the kiss, gazing down at her, stroking her hair back from her face and then cupping her cheek.

She leaned into his palm and smiled. “That was amazing.”

He gazed at her for a long moment, his expression unreadable before he looked away. Then he pulled out and rolled to the mattress beside her.

She reached for him, but he got out of bed, saying, “Give me a minute.”

For a moment she panicked he was giving her the cold shoulder, but then he went into the bathroom, and she decided everything was fine. He was just dealing with the condom.

She curled onto her side, sleepy and warm. She couldn’t remember ever feeling like this, so satisfied, so content. Logan cared about her. He looked into her eyes when they made love; he gave her pleasure before taking his own. He was wonderful. Pure happiness stole through her. Tangled up in this mess of a trashed career and fake marriage, it was sheer happiness that shined through it all.

Logan dealt with the condom, and then he just stood there in the bathroom, needing some space. There’d been a moment, more than one, actually, looking into Sabrina’s eyes, where he’d felt something so strong his throat closed up with emotion. He couldn’t pretend it was the wine, which had worn off hours ago, or just lust because he knew what that felt like and it wasn’t this. It didn’t make sense, though, the speed of it all.

Too tired to figure anything out, he made his way back to the bedroom, turned off the light on the nightstand, and joined her in the bed, rolling to his side, tucking himself behind her, and wrapping an arm around her waist.

He smoothed her hair out of his way and nuzzled into her neck, unable to resist her soft sweetness. “You always smell like honey and flowers.”

“It’s honeysuckle soap. I love the scent.”

He ran his tongue along the line of her neck, tasting it. Then he remembered another interesting thing she’d said about him, and he couldn’t resist teasing her. “Who’s the hottest man who ever graced this planet?”

She wiggled her bottom into him but didn’t reply.

“You’re the hottest woman I’ve ever slept with.”

She stiffened. “Really?”

“Yup.”

“Olivia is very beautiful.”

He pressed his lips to the sensitive spot below her ear. “Olivia who?”

“Still think I’m an untouchable porcelain doll?” He could hear the smile in her voice.

“Nope.” He ran a hand over the curve of her hip, loving the feel of her, her skin like warm satin, smooth and soft. “Turns out you’re very touchable.”

She hummed a happy sound before looking at him over her shoulder. “I like our revenge,” she whispered.

“What revenge?”

She turned back, quiet.

“Sabrina?”

A horrible thought occurred. Had all this fucking just been some kind of revenge against her ex? She had been upset about her ex before.

And here he was getting all mushy about her.

On the other hand, it wasn’t like Sabrina to be confrontational and vengeful. Actually…she had confronted Olivia. And didn’t she want a revenge wedding? And he’d said yes. Well, why not pretend? Itwouldbe a great FU, it would fix her rep, and he was already liking the honeymoon. They had the whole day tomorrow before she had to fly home.

California was like an oasis just for them. All sex all the time.

He’d deal with reality once they got home.
