“It’s okay, May,” Cooper says. “Still open to the public. What can I get you?”

“Points for the right name,” she says. “A glass of merlot, please.”

I shoot Cooper a look. I don’t want him working on our special day. He inclines his head, understanding. He pours the merlot and gives it to her.

“Last one, I promise,” he says to me.

His cousin Mason shows up and claps Cooper on the shoulder. “What’re you doing working behind the bar? Get out here. I’ll do that.”

Mason goes behind the bar and gives May a sexy smile. She stares at him for a moment before exclaiming, “I know you! You’re that guy onHot Finds. I love that show.”

Cooper joins me, kissing my temple. He’s so affectionate and wonderful.

Mason leans an elbow on the bar, getting close to May. “That’s me. Cool that you watch the show. We have mostly a male demographic.”

“You’re even more good looking in person.” She slaps a hand over her mouth. “I can’t believe I said that out loud.”

“Say whatever you want. I love to hear it. I’m Mason.”

“I know.” She laughs. “I’m May O’Hare. My grandparents used to own this place. Back then it was called Garner’s Sports Bar & Grill.”

“Is that right? Well, I’m glad you walked in today, May.”

“Me too.”

Cooper and I exchange a look. Seems like a love connection in the making as Mason and May gaze into each other’s eyes.

“Lot ofMnames in my family,” Mason says. “My three younger brothers have names that start with anM, two of my cousins, and my mom.”

“And now you met anotherM, me.”

“May, you’re the prettiest one of them all.”

“I hope so if you’re comparing me to your brothers!”

They laugh.

“Mommy! Mommy!” A little girl around five years old with her brown hair in pigtails runs up to May.

May stands and picks her up. “Did you have fun at the bookstore?”

I do a double take as a woman who looks exactly like May joins her. Identical twins. “Sorry. I kept her distracted as long as I could.”

Mason stares at the little girl and then at May.

“Single mom,” May says.

Mason shifts uncomfortably.

“Mommy, that’s Mason fromHot Finds!” the little girl exclaims. “Can I get your autograph?”

“Come on,” Cooper says to me. “I want to slow dance with my new fiancée.”

I follow him. “But there’s no music.”

“Back room,” he says, taking my hand and guiding me to the empty back room. He goes to the jukebox and plays an upbeat song, “Happy Together.”

He twirls me around and brings me close. “This song reminds me of us. Happy once we got together.”
