“You. Now. I. Need.” She tried to talk without releasing the hold her mouth had on his shoulder. The words were garbled against his skin.
He thrust again. Harder than before. Faster.
She released his neck, panting for breath.
He could feel her body coiling again. She would be able to climax a second time with him. He bent and flexed, reaching for her bobbing breasts, taking one into his mouth and then the other. Then he nuzzled her neck again waiting for the right moment. The moment just before he felt ready for his release.
Then bit back.
Hard.
Deep.
Matching the pain of his bite with the timing of a hard thrust and his climax slammed into him so hard he forgot how to breathe.
She screamed out. Her body writhed and matched him thrust for thrust. She tightened around him and pulsed again, even harder than before.
Her body worked his as hard as he was pumping into her.
Everything was in sync in that moment. A moment that lasted an eternity. A moment filled with love and bliss and happiness and hope and everything else that couldn’t be voiced the way the act of bonding expressed it so perfectly.
He looked down at her, waiting for her gaze to meet his again. Their chests were both heaving. Both trying to find air again. Sweat slicked their bodies and he stayed still, stayed buried deep within her.
He bent and kissed her neck, licking over the wound he’d made. Thesoul glowhad faded. The magick of their bond was completely solidified and the sense of beinghomein her arms was profound.
“Mine.” Her tone was strong and left no room for doubt.
Her claim made him smile down contentedly at her. He rolled to his back taking her with him so that she was sprawled out on his chest. His cock came out of her, but the feel of her body against his kept his lion satisfied. His chest rattled with a soft purr.
“Forever mine.” And she was. Forever his. Forever in his heart. Forever a part of his soul.
She nestled her head against his chest and shivered a little. “I never thought we would get to this place.”
He stayed quiet, waiting for the rest.
“I’m so glad that we did. I’m so grateful to have you as a mate. I love you, Saul.”
“I love you too,my strong sweetshuarra.”

Col
The first light of morning was peeking over the horizon. Mornings came so late in the land’s winter.
He sighed.
The night had been so long.
Col never really thought he’d see so many of his kind together again like this…there were dragons everywhere.
The lions that hadn’t been executed were only a few, but they were here and they were kneeling in the center of the driveway in front of his cabin.
Only five had been spared.
Novik’s men stated that they had knelt and surrendered their human hostage immediately upon the dragons finding them. All five had been together in one pod.
Every other pod of warriors had fought until death, refusing to surrender. All of them had been turned to ash. All of them had fought loyally for Rivian. It was a loss Col would have to live with.
