“Here I am,” she smiled, kissing him again. “Cole? I think you should stay with me. You know, just for practice.”

“Oh, babe, we will be practicing all night.”

CHAPTER NINETEEN

Angus and Bailey stood on the porch of her cottage, both seemingly nervous and shy. When she decided to move out of her parent’s home after college, she’d chosen a cottage at the fringes of the property, hoping to have some privacy from everyone. She loved her parents and siblings but she really craved quiet time. She was close, but not too close.

“So,” he said kicking a toe against the porch, “this is your cottage. The cottages were always nice here. I mean, obviously. Great appliances, nice furniture, the works.”

“Angus, do you really want to talk about the appliances in my home? Just relax. I’m an adult. My parents have given you the thumbs up. I know that you’ve had a number of women before me. You shouldn’t be nervous.” He took a deep breath and nodded, taking a seat on the porch swing. Bailey sat beside him, linking her hand with his.

“Bailey, I’m nervous because this relationship is the one that matters the most to me. It’s the last relationship I ever want to be involved in. I didn’t realize it until we were on the plane coming back. My ex, all the women to fill an hour here and there because I thought I was lonely, were just leading me back to you. I think I knew. I think, deep down, I knew that I was supposed to come back here and I think fate was making me bide my time until you were old enough.”

“You sound like Mama Irene,” she smiled.

“Maybe. I don’t want to mess this up, Bailey. You’re important to me. More than important. I want you to be my wife, have my, our children. I want to have a ninety-year marriage and live forever right here, growing old together.”

“I want the same thing, Angus. I think it’s why I was holding back on dating anyone.”

“Even Joey,” he smirked.

“Joey and I have been friends since we were in kindergarten. We were, are great friends. I thought we would eventually end up together. I’m not sure why. I never felt what I feel when I’m with you. When Joey and I danced at that wedding, somehow I knew it would never be more than just friendship and I was okay with that. I wasn’t crying or devastated the way other women would be. Women who were madly in love. Those women would have been depressed. I was okay.”

“I’m very glad to hear that,” he said gripping her hand more firmly. “Well, I guess I’ll find my cottage.”

“Or. Or you could stay here. With me.”

“Bailey, nothing would make me happier but I guess I’m still waiting for you to be absolutely sure that this, I am what you want.”

“Angus, you know as well as I do that these things happen like a lightning strike. I think we both knew the moment we ran into each other in the hotel lobby. You’re who I’ve been waiting for, Angus. Stay.” She stood, holding out her hand and he nodded.

“Wait. I think I need to go check with your father about this,” he said stoically.

“Angus,” she laughed, “everyone knows everything here. Believe me, my parents are already well aware of the fact that you’re coming inside my cottage and never leaving.”

“Never?” he smirked. She gripped his shirt, pulling his face down to hers, kissing him with passion. She smiled at him, tugging him backwards through her front door.

“Let’s go. Never starts right now.”

Angus turned, closing her front door and locking it behind him. He took a deep breath and turned back toward Bailey but she was gone.

“You’re an intelligent man,” she called in a playful voice. “Follow me to my bedroom.”

Angus chuckled, not really sure why he was so nervous. That wasn’t true. He knew exactly why he was nervous. He was in love and this meant everything to him.

Standing at her bedroom door, she was sitting on the pink floral overstuffed chair removing her clothing. Her shoes and socks were gone, her jeans on the floor. Now she stood in front of him, just her t-shirt and panties.

“Fuck, you’re beautiful,” he growled. She smiled at him, unbuttoning his shirt.

“I’m on the pill. I haven’t been with anyone since my sophomore year of college and it was a pathetic, awful mistake. I’m clean. I’m going to bet that you are too. I’d like this to be us. Together. Not something between us.” She shoved his shirt to the floor and sucked in a breath at the sight of his muscled chest. A long line of hair stretched from his breastbone to his naval and below.

“You’ve thought a lot about this,” he smiled. “I am clean, Bailey. I want nothing more than to make love to you without a barrier. If you’re sure.”

“I’m sure,” she whispered, unbuttoning his jeans, slowly lowering the zipper. He gripped her wrist and stepped back, kicking the jeans and boxers off. His cock was thick, surrounded by dark hair. It was so purple it looked painful.

“Wow,” she said staring at him. Angus chuckled, shaking his head.

“Now, that reaction just might give a man’s ego a boost.”
