“Levi was on his way to Lake Renegade, his plan was to stop here for a couple of days and then head to Wintervale to surprise you. But we haven’t been able to get ahold of him. He was supposed to get in this afternoon. When I called the airlines, they told me that the plane had mechanical issues and it went down. But they wouldn’t tell me anything else. The plane went down in a forest near Duluth, Minnesota.Valentino, Giacomo, Salvatore, Celestino, Keegan, Armando, Lynton and I are on our way to the airport to catch our flight to Duluth now. I promise you I’ll let you know as soon as I know anything.”
“I can’t just sit here and wait. Is he alive? Do you we at least know that?”
“I don’t know.”
She starts sobbing. I hear someone taking the phone from her.
“Hey Felicity, it’s Giacomo. The only thing we know right now is that the plane went down. The authorities won’t release any information over the phone and they won’t talk to anyone who isn’t family.”
“I need to be there. Please, Giacomo.” I sob.
“You can’t come alone. Are any of your brothers there with you?”
“Emiko is here.”
“Put her on please.”
I hand my phone to Emiko.
“This is Emiko,” she says.
I watch her nod and talk to Giacomo. Before she hangs up, she tells him we’ll see them soon.
“They’re going to send the jet for us after they land. We need to get your brothers here so we can go home and pack a bag.”
I drop to my knees and sob. Please let him be okay, I’m just getting to know him. I knew the moment we met that I wanted to be with him. I feel arms helping me up and I see my brothers.
“Lukas is going to close the store and put up a sign that we’re going to be closed for a while. Let’s get you home so we can all pack and get to the airport. We need to meet the plane in two and a half hours,” Rhett says as he holds me.
“I don’t want to lose him, Rhett,” I cry as I hold onto my brother.
“I know, Lissy. Let’s think good thoughts and get going,” he says softly to me.
I don’t remember how I got to the car or home, but somehow I was there and sitting on the couch.
“I’ll get a bag together for Lissy,” I hear Piper say to the others.
“I talked to Enea, he said that more of them can come if need be. Because they don’t know what happened, they didn’t want to panic and send everyone. But if we need any of the mamas, they’ll come and help us,” Rhett says quietly to everyone.
It sounds like they’re underwater when I hear them talk. I know what they’re saying, but I just can’t react.
“I think we’re going to need them. Lissy’s going to need them. Fuck, I wish Mom was here,” Paxton says sadly.
I can feel my tears falling more. I miss my mom and dad, I don’t want to have to miss Levi too.
Lukas crouches down in front of me. “Lissy, we need to get to the airport. Are you sure you want to go? We can wait here for news.”
“No. I need to be there with Leighton and Lynton. Please.”
“Okay.” He nods as he takes my hand and helps me up.
“I got your bag ready,” Emma says to me.
“Thank you.” I sniffle. “You don’t all have to come with me. I know you don’t really approve of me and Levi.”
“Felicity, that’s not true. We just wanted to make sure he was good for you. But you know that if he’s the one you want, we’ll back you one hundred percent,” Rhett says to me.
“I want you all to love him as much as I do. He has to be okay.” I cry louder as I try to get my feelings under control, but all I can think is that I never got to say goodbye to my parents…what if I don’t get to see Levi again?
