“I won’t I promise. Oh,hello?” Charlie chuckled and put his hands up submissively at the Ucfeni. Unlike the others, this one was male. He had wider shoulders, far more muscles and something very intense about his stare. He had emerald coloured scales, glossy, and a brown wrap around skirt made of high quality leather. He also had a golden necklace with the com-gem resting on his firm pecks to match two armlets hugging his biceps. “Erm, hi that’s a littleclose,don’t you think?” I watched as the Ucfeni leaned close enough to flick his tongue and connect with Charlie’s nose.
“I am Dalahan.” His voice was lighter than I would have expected for a guy his size. Charlie appeared to be as wary of him as I was. I start to shuffle Billie past him and hope Charlie will follow. He tries to, but this Dalahan guy lifts a hand to bar his way. “My friend Ambassador Rerasha says you might like to get to know me?”
“D-did he now?” Charlie cleared his throat nervously. “I can’t imagine why?”
“I think you know. He was right. I would find youinteresting.” I look back over my shoulder. Billie is my priority, but now I’m worried for Charlie. “You smell alright too. Come here and let’s talk.” The big boa looking alien tries to take a fistful of Charlie’s shirt and he hurries to stumble away from the grab.
“W-wow there now hang on?!!”
Oh shit.
In his attempt to escape Charlie bumps into Billie.
She squeaks and snaps her eyes open to take in the scene around her. I’m turning pale as I imagine the sensory overload that’s taking place in her head right now.
“Billie, honey, it’s okay. You’re okay. You are my sunshine. You make me happy, when I am sad-” She’s panting faster and faster and I expect her to lower down to the ground and shut down. That would have been better than what she actually did.
She bolted.
“Billie wait!”
Chapter 10
“PUT ME DOWN!”

“Billie wait!”
I run after my sister, my heart in my chest as I try and catch my sister before she can collide into one of these huge aliens. I can hear her crying and I know she’s going to find the first empty place she can to shut down. If someone grabs her, even if it’s out of kindness to try and calm her down, they’ll make it worse.
I regret agreeing to come here. This has been one nightmare after another for Billie. Why did I let her convince me this was a good idea?! “Billie!” She runs off the red carpet and under what looks like tree branches growing out of the yellow stone wall. She is so fast, she get’s there before me. I watch ass she skids over to the back corner and slides down to hug her knees and cry into them.
A wall of massive Ucfeni block my path to her and are watching my poor sister with fascination. I hate them for that. At first I don’t want to have anything to do with these huge snake people, but my sister needs me. I can hear her crying and damn it, enough is enough. “Excuse me! Coming through!” I start nudging scaly tails and hips to get them to move out of my way. I even resort to a bit of elbowing to force my way through the throng of scales. Once on the other side I see AmbassadorRerasha talking to the biggest Ucfeni i’ve ever seen. He looks like a King Cobra with a wide hood and piercing yellow eyes.
“None may approach until she is calm.” The big guy speaks with a deep rumbling voice and nods like his order shall be obeyed. Like hell it will.
“Yes, your highness.” Rerasha bows submissively and turns to shoo the other Ucfeni away. I march right past him and make a beeline for my sister. I see her still cradling her knees and rocking back and forth.
“You will not approach me.” The Cobra snarls, and I am not in the mood for whatever bullshit he’s planning, so I make a wider arc to get around him. My heart skips a beat when he’s suddenly in front of me and towering over me on his muscular creamy brown tail. I tense and look up into his sharp slitted eyes and see danger there.
“P-please?” This guy looked more than capable of eating me. I shook held both hands up to show I wasn’t a threat. “Billie is my sister and she has shut down. She needs-”
“You need to back off, right now.” He hissed deeply and someone tries to grab my left hand. Instinctively and defensively I swat it away and see the Ambassador has returned in a fluster. Mr. Cobra snarls and leans way too close to me for comfort. “HEY! Will you ALL just calm THE FUCK down?!!” That’s it. Now I’m pissed (and a little scared) and my pent up frustration is going to rain down on them all. “Billie Blac is my sister, and she has been treated SO BADLY since we arrived here on Thulia, and now she is COWERING in the back of your hall! I am her sister, the ONLY person who understands her, and you are stopping me from taking care of my AUTISTIC SISTER!”
I ignore the gasps from my fellow humans who understand what I’ve just said. The Ucfeni appeared to be clueless.
“Billie Blac? Oh no.” Rerasha’s neck scales paled. “The technical genius? The one Alaric says is very important?”
“Yes she’sall that, sure,but that’s not what I care about right now.” I chide him. “I care about the fact that she is so upset and so scared she has shut down.” I return my brown eyes to look at the deadly obstacle in my way. “-and you arestoppingme from getting to her. Let me pass.” I make another attempt to walk around him but the Cobra hisses and there is nothing funny about the massive fangs I can see in his mouth. “Why? Why won’t you-” Rerasha scared the crap out of me when he grabbed the back of my head and made be bow forward.
“You stupid girl! Show respect. This is Prince Izule. When he gives an order it must be followed.”
“Rerasha! Unhand her this instant!”Oh thank God.Alaric hasfinallyarrived and can straighten this all out. All I want is my sister. What’s so unreasonable about that? “Hannah I’m here!”
“Thank God! Get him off me!”
“This is a huge misunderstanding, I’m sure.” Alaric aims at the Ucfeni. “But it’snot okayto take hold of one of my people Ambassador. Release Hannah right now.”
