Chapter Four

Sophie

“So then, he said that he wanted sex but nothing else and that he wanted to gag me. What the fuck?” Tom says, his voice getting more high pitched as his story goes on.

Tom is single but forever on the lookout for his dream guy. His online dating experiences are not going to well - this wasn’t his first disaster.

“I hope you told him to piss off. Why would you go online and say all that stuff about wanting a relationship, and it all be bullshit?”

He looked ashamed. “I did think about it for a minute and then told him to piss off. If he was drop-dead gorgeous I might have agreed to it, but nah, he wasn't all that.”

I shake my head. “I don't think you're on the right site, honey. Surely there must be other sites with more genuine people on there that want to meet a nice guy?”

He shrugs. “I can't find them if they exist. I do know that I'm close to giving up. And living in a place like this? There are hardly any gay guys. I'm going to have to move if I want to meet someone.”

I wave my hand. “Give me time - I'm going to find your dream guy. You do not have to move to find love, Tom.”

“Hey, you find a good-looking guy looking for love - I'm all over it. Until then, I have to have one disastrous date after another.”

I smile at him fondly. “We all have to kiss a few frogs until we find our prince.”

“What about you? What is your dating resume like?”

I make a pfft sound. “You don't want to know. I’ve never even had a serious relationship. I’m holding out for my hero, babe. I’ll find him. He’s out there with my name on him. In the meantime, I have fun trying out different guys, nothing serious, but I might as well have fun while I'm still young, right?”

He shakes his head. “You are such a catch - I wish you had a dick.”

I laugh. “I wish straight guys thought I was a catch.”

He gives a short laugh. “You are gorgeous. That hair is seriously badass and those gorgeous brown eyes. You fill out a pair of leggings perfectly with that arse of yours, and you know you do. You have a serious figure, girl. You're a knockout, but not only that - your fucking amazing on the inside too. I think that hero you're holding out for will thank his lucky stars when he meets you.”

Oh my god, I think I'm going to cry.

“You are the sweetest guyever. I think that's the nicest thing anyone has ever said to me. Back at ya. When that guy meets you, he’ll think he is the luckiest guy in the world.”

He pouts. “Too right - hewillbe the luckiest guy in the world.”

I laugh as I hear the door go and turn to see a lovely sight - three hot firemen walking towards the bar where Tom and I are gossiping.

“You guys are busy.” One of them says, looking between both of us. We've done all our chores. We've been busy since the start of the shift, so we figured we deserved a rest and a chat.
