But for the sake of whatever, I looked back down at the photo and did my best to place her.

“Yeah,” I said as I closed my eyes. “I was talking with one of the crew one day. I think I mentioned something about how I was looking into buying a house here in Atlanta. She,” I shook the photo, “said she had overheard me and recommended… Oh, fuck.”

“Nick?” Jameson said and suddenly he was right beside me. Why was he holding onto my arm like he was afraid I’d fall over. Was the room moving back and forth, or was that me?

“I’m fine,” I told him but he still led me over to the chair and helped me to sit. “She recommended this community. She said it was gated and the security was top-notch. She even said there was a house for sale and told me who to call about it.”

It seemed far-fetched and convenient all at the same time.

“I mean, no. That couldn’t be. There’s no wayshehad this elaborate plan that I just played into.” Okay, that sounded a little mean, I know, but she didn’t look like the brightest bulb in the bunch. “She lives here, so that’s why she suggested it because she has first-hand experience with how the security is.”

“I got her bank statements. She was the one that sent the chocolates,” Austin said.

“Chocolates?” I piped up, head still spinning. How did I not know about this?

“They wouldn’t let the delivery man through. I picked them up on my way in this morning.” Jen sounded a little freaked out.

So that was why they were all in here having an intense chat without me.

“She’s a fan? She wanted to welcome me to the neighborhood?” I was reaching and I knew it.

“She was there that day on the trail. I think she’s the one that took the pictures.” Jameson’s tone was full of regret and all I wanted to do was hug him. Then what he’d actually said hit me, and I was frozen with fear.

“What else is on there?” Jen asked with a nod at the tablet Austin had picked up.

“Nothing really exciting. I went through it last night and looked up all the shit I didn’t know. Like that Liza and Elise place. She shops there a lot. Who the fuck spends a thousand dollars on panties every month?” With wide eyes, Austin shook his head like his mind had been completely blown. “There’s the chocolate shop. I’ll call them in a little bit but I doubt they’ll tell me anything. And the only thing that was weird was this,” he scrolled through until he found what he was looking for, “Peter Indigo Kaleidoscope Enterprise. I looked it up and the only thing I found was a website and it was locked without a password.”

Jameson snorted and we all turned to look at him.

“What am I missing?” Austin asked.

“Pike,” Jameson said and I could feel all the blood draining away from my face. His eyes went to mine and I could see it there in his gaze. There was no way I was going to get out of this.

“What the fuck is Pike?” Austin asked, his brow twisted in pure confusion.

“Upscale sex club,” Jen supplied with enthusiasm in his tone. “Like super upscale. Unless you’re at celebrity status, you don’t get in there without someone already a member vouching for you. Oh, my God, I would give anything to go there.”

“How do you know what it is?” Austin asked, eyes narrowed at Jameson. “And how the fuck do you know that Peter whatever-the-fuck-else is the same as the sex club?”

“I check my statements every month. I pay attention to the charges that go through and from where.”

“Are you saying that you’ve been there?” Jen asked with wide eyes.

Jameson nodded without a care.

“How the hell did you get in there?” Austin asked.

And, okay, that was something I’d wondered and despite the crazy that might be going on, I was intrigued to hear the answer.

“I asked Reed. He made a call,” Jameson supplied with a shrug.

“But why would you need to go to a sex club?” Austin was staring at his partner like his world had just been turned upside down by all this information.

“I like to watch. It’s a thing.”

“Wait, you what?!” I cut in.

“Um, I’m not really sure what I’m supposed to say here.”
