“I’m alright with that,” he said as he scooped me up and then carried me to the bed.

“Nap time,” he declared as he curled up between Ev and me.

“But what about—” I started, not really sure what I would have done to help him get his relief. I was willing to try, though, even if I was bad at it.

“Another time,” he said, slipping his arm around my waist. “We have us now, so we have plenty of time to…”

“Fuck around,” Evan finished for him, causing a laugh to bubble out of me.

“I’m all for it,” I said. “I’m very pro-coming now.”

Ev gasped then slapped a hand over my mouth.

“What did you do to her? She used to be so sweet and innocent,” Ev said playfully.

I nipped at his finger, causing him to snatch his hand back.

“And now she bites. Better watch your junk,” Ev said.

I gasped.

“What am I going to do with the two of you?” Chry cut in.

Then the three of us dissolved into a fit of laughter.

And nothing had ever felt more right.

CHAPTER TWENTY-SIX

Evan

I couldn’t believe a week had gone by since everything went to shit and then somehow was put back together again, only slightly different and better.

Truthfully, my head was still trying to process everything. I knew Cat was doing the same. While Chry… well, he seemed all in but unsure of what to do about it.

The three of us were kind of a disaster, I couldn’t even lie about that.

But at the same time, things had more or less gone back to the way they had been before. Which was nice.

Things were gradually sliding into place, and I liked that it was going that way. Everything had been up and down for a while, and there had been this intense, strained energy around the three of us. That was starting to fall away, and the three of us were growing closer one moment at a time.

Had it surprised me that night when Chry came bursting into my room and tried to kiss both of us? Yeah. It definitely took me off guard. But the more I thought about it, the more I saw the two of them together without the filter on, the more it made sense.

That said, we weren’t rushing to tell everyone what was going on between the three of us. We’d agreed to take it slow and keep it to ourselves for now. Since Cat hanging out in Chry’s room and sleeping over wasn’t out of the ordinary, it didn’t really feel like we were sneaking around. Which was good. I wasn’t trying to be shady, and I knew Chry didn’t like hiding things from the club.

Now that Chry and Cat were safe and slowly putting themselves back together, and now that things with us were less tumultuous, I figured it was time to face that one big thing I’d been trying not to think about.

Honestly, I didn’t know what to do with this newfound information. The fact that one of the members might have been my father. The fact that he was dead. The fact that I potentially had an aunt. It was kind of blowing my mind.

It was time to talk to Abigail.

Chry and Cat had nudged me toward this after I’d broken down and finally talked about it last night. Chry was a little hurt that it had taken me this long to tell him. He hadn’t said as much, but I could see it in his eyes. What could I say? Things had been crazy. On top of all of that, I wasn’t sure I was ready to talk about it. Somehow opening up about it to them made it more real. And if it turned out that Dade wasn’t my dad, I had no clue how that would hit me. Thinking about my father hadn’t really been something I did before. This had opened up all sorts of questions. It had my mind going to places that I hadn’t let it go to my whole life.

It was time to suck it up. I’d never know if I didn’t try to find the answers.

I’d been sitting on one of the couches in the lounge waiting for Charming and Abigail. I wasn’t going to corner her when she was alone. Not only did I need to show Charming respect by not talking to his Old Lady alone, but I also figured she might need someone there to lean on. This was going to be pretty heavy.

It was about the time she came in to cook if she was doing it that night. Lucky for me, she came walking in, with Charming right behind her. I drained my beer bottle as I watched them cut through the clubhouse lounge to get to the kitchen.
