I wasn’t going to fuck him. I wasn’t like those people. And the thought of touching him like that, even to get revenge, turned my stomach so bad that I felt the need to puke.
Circling around him, I wrapped the belt around one hand. My eyes met LT’s gaze. He looked as unsure as the fucker in front of me looked. He also seemed like he was about to step in and stop me. I shook my head, causing his lips to twitch. I knew deep down he didn’t think I’d really do something that vile, but it was nice to know that he had his limits. He had lines he’d draw.
Slipping my hands between his arms, I quickly grabbed the other end of the belt. He let out a yelp as I pulled it tight against his thick neck. There was a struggle, but it was weak, his legs basically useless, leaving him at my mercy.
Or Death’s, rather.
My muscles bulged as I pulled tighter, cutting off his air completely. His body twitched and his head thrashed back and forth. I watched LT’s reaction since I couldn’t see the asshole’s face.
Then, it was done, his body completely limp and lifeless.
I took in a deep breath, only then realizing that I’d been holding back. It was like everything snapped into reality, and I was hit with the fact that I’d just killed a man.
And I didn’t feel a single bit bad about it.
“Done?” LT asked.
“Done,” I told him, releasing the belt and letting it slip from my hands. It hit the floor with ating, finalizing this moment.
“Feel better?”
“Maybe a little,” I answered with a laugh. “But I’m not sure this is a form of therapy that I want to use all the time.”
It was his turn to laugh.
“Yeah, we won’t make a habit out of it,” he said. His head was shaking but there was a slight smile on his face. “Hopefully, once we get this mess cleaned up, things will be calm for a while.”
“For alongwhile,” I said, not wanting to invite any chaos to the club.
“Ready to get out of here?”
“Yep,” I said as I stepped around the body and walked out of the box, not once looking back.
He wasn’t going to get any more of my thoughts. He wasn’t going to darken our lives a second longer.
“You gonna be okay?” he asked, clapping me on the shoulder before he turned to shut up the container.
“I think so. Might need to take a few to clear my head, but I’ll be alright.”
The drama with Chry was my shit to deal with. I didn’t want to bring the club into it, even though I’d kind of already made a scene in front of a few of the brothers.
“Be even better when we have Dustin,” I added, just for the hell of it.
“We’ll get him,” he assured me and I believed him. “Go on now. I’ll get this cleaned up.”
With a nod, I climbed back on my bike and took off.
One down.
One to go.
CHAPTER TWENTY
Cat
“Hey,” my sister, Elizabeth, said as she cracked open my door and stuck her head in. She was only a year younger than me, but I felt like she had her life together way more than I did. “Can I come in?”
“Sure,” I said as I sat up and leaned against the headboard.
