I pushed him to the window and whispered, “Go!”

LEVI
While pretty and all, the new dusting of snow was nearly the death of me as I scaled the roof back to my room.
I tossed and turned most of the night missing her beside me. If I could just keep her in closure mode I could work on getting her to give me a second chance. I just needed a little more time.
Once up I showered and roamed downstairs to find an empty kitchen with Lexi at the stove making omelets.
“Good morning.”
“It was.”
I grabbed a cup and poured myself some coffee. “You know, it’s okay to not entirely hate me.”
Her head shook. “But I’ve put so much time and energy into the rage thing, it’d be a shame to let it go now.”
I leaned against the counter. “I’m not going to hurt her.”
Lexi’s eyes met mine. “I promise.”
She held my stare. “Please just leave her alone.”
Luckily my response wasn’t confirmed as Royce and Evan entered and sat at the table.
“Breakfast served in five,” she sang.
Royce scooted in his chair. “Since you girls have to get the wedding food, I thought the guys could check out the indoor golf place in town and get lunch.” He took an irritated breath. “Levi, you should come.”
Allie entered the room and stole every bit of oxygen from me. Everything from her jeans hugging that perfect backside, to the gray shirt that made those baby blues pop, and the auburn curls I wanted to run my fingers through, made her perfection shine like a diamond.
While nobody in the room knew yet, I would not be golfing. Or lunching with the guys. Nope, I was going to be with the girls starting my plan to make Allie realize she can’t live without me.
“Thanks for the invite, Royce, but I have some emails and work to get to. I’ll just hang back while you all go.”
The room seemed to accept this answer. One point for Levi.
Let the games begin.

I SWEAR ON MILLER LITE
We pulled on our coats by the front door when Kristina grabbed my hand and looked at our gang.
“Girls, I just want to thank you. I know none of us were thrilled with Emily’s decision for a Christmas Eve wedding, but with the divorce so fresh, if I wasn’t here with you, I’d be a blubbering mess at home alone. The first holiday by myself. I’d be having such a terrible Christmas somebody would seriously have to shove a rainbow up my ass to prevent me from flinging myself out the damn window.”
Lexi giggled.
“You all are giving me energy so I can start a new life after this.”
I hugged her. I knew what starting over without the love of your life was like shared glass slicing and dicing your flesh.
“I’m glad we’re all together. And Kristina, you’re going to be great. A new life and adventures ahead.”
