Kaia snapped his gaze to Diesel. “What?”

“Minor incident. You should visit her.” Diesel couldn’t be accused of sabotage with such a generous invitation. “It’ll cheer her up.”

“I’ll, uh…” He looked at Fia again, then rocked on his heels. “I just got paid, so I can afford to hire a ride to the hospital.”

Somehow, Diesel held back his glower.

“Where do you work?” Fia sounded truly interested.

“I work near here,” Kaia revealed. “At the minimart on the main road, right near that office building.”

Near Johnnie and Bailey’s offices.

“What about you?”

Fia smiled. “I work part-time at the big grocery store up on Edelsohn.”

“Oh, right! That’s near the hospital, isn’t it?” Kaia asked.

“That’s the one,” Fia responded with a dramatic sigh.

“Nice. You travel between rags and riches daily then,” Fia said.

Kaia shrugged. “A lot of towns are aesthetically pleasing on principal thoroughfares that hide low- or middle-income neighborhoods just blocks away.”

“I blame the city planners,” Diesel said. “Uncle Christopher and Aunt Meggie argued for progress. She wanted to offer grants to homeowners who needed repairs and upgrades.” He looked around and smiled. “This was one of those neighborhoods. Kind of a blight, though not yet a lost cause. Not her words,” he added quickly.

“Of course not,” Fia said sarcastically. “She’s a saint.”

Diesel glared at her. “Would you like to visit Nyx?”

“N-no.”

“That’s the chick who was becoming an official club girl, right?” Kaia blurted, recovering a situation that could spiral in the wrong direction if Diesel lost his temper. “Where is she?”

“In hell,” Diesel said, baring his teeth.

Kaia laughed nervously, obviously thinking Diesel was telling a joke. When he saw Fia’s trembling lips, though, his eyes widened and he straightened.

“It’s been a long week, Kaia,” Diesel inserted. “I’m just in a bad mood. Ignore me.” He nodded to Fia. “I didn’t have anyone to party with. My friends are at the hospital, so I thought about you.”

“You…you did?”

“You’re important to my little sister. You’ll probably be around a lot if she has her way—” But not if Diesel had his. “I want to get to know you better. Hanging out with the team after a game or after practice isn’t the same thing as one on one.” He looked at Fia and lifted a brow. “Or in this case one on one with a sweet treat.”

She got to her feet and lifted her dress over her head. Big tits, a small waist, and a hairy pussy greeted them. She walked to Kaia, swinging her hips with exaggeration. Reaching him, she dropped to her knees and lifted his shirt. His breath hitched, but he placed his hand over hers before she unbuckled his belt.

“Rebel…I can’t…isn’t this cheating?”

Dieselalmostadmired him. “Are you two in a relationship?”

Fia slid her hand over Kaia’s crotch. He shivered. “I don’t…you said I was important to her.”

“Youwillbe important to her,” Diesel amended, opting for gaslighting. “I didn’t say you were.”

Kaia heaved in a breath. He still blocked Fia from his fly, but he placed a hand on her head. Progress. “I-I thought…I swore I heard—”

“You didn’t.” Smiling, Diesel raised his hand. “I swear. Your need for a cock suck has you confused.”
