“Not really.”
I smiled at her, feeling a weight lift from my chest as I cupped her face and kissed her passionately, pulling her into my arms.
I fucking promise to take care of you, through it all, after it, and forever. She pulled away and raised an eyebrow.
“Don’t get ahead of yourself, baby, I may not be.”
“One way to find out…” I dropped to my knees, closing my eyes as I placed my ear to her stomach. I wasn’t sure…
“Nothing?” She asked nervously.
“It’s kinda early, I guess. Usually, people pick it up a bit later. We’ll go to the doctor’s tomorrow.” She nodded, and despite how she was feeling, I knew she was trying to keep a level head.
“Well, you know… if you aren’t and you want one…” To my surprise, she nodded and smiled shyly. That was a first for Robyn. “Yeah…”
“I never knew you liked kids…” I said, pulling her into my arms once more.
“I never said I didn’t. Come on, let’s return to the table.” I smiled as she opened the door, hand in hand as we walked back to the table.
“Is everything okay?” Mom asked us worriedly.
“Yeah, Momma, we’ll go to the hospital tomorrow.”
“Or I’ll get a pregnancy test… I don’t want everyone to know,” Robyn murmured, taking her seat again.
“Sounds like a plan. Either way, I’m sure you two will be amazing parents,” Channing added. “Besides, I think Moni would really love some grandkids to play with.” They smiled at each other, and I realised a child may just be what will keep Mom occupied when Channing, Robyn, and I were working.
“Then make sure you tell us if it’s a yes or no,” Rick added to his sister, who nodded.
“We sure will,” I replied, sitting down and kissing her lips once more…
Monica
Channing and Ihad returned to mine; well, it would soon be ours. His children and brother were as understanding of our relationship as my son was. It was just Anna who couldn’t stomach it. She was strictly not allowed on Blue Moon territory. When she found out about Channing’s new position, she wanted him back. Disgusting. I hoped I didn’t have many run-ins with her, I was better off without it. She had cheated on Channing when he was an amazing, selfless man.
I would always love Aaron, and just the thought of him made my heart ache, but I was able to love Channing, too. Perhaps it would never reach the level of love I had for Aaron, but it was enough.
“Want to visit his grave tomorrow?” He asked, pulling me onto the sofa next to him. He was always so understanding. Despite both his legs being destroyed in the battle of Hecate’s Betrayal years ago, he had not let it get to him. That man was strong, brave, and always happy. He’d use crutches when needed or his wheelchair, but either way, he never let it get to him. I placed my hand on the top part of his leg, looked into his eyes, and nodded.
“Yeah, tomorrow I will.” I rested my head on his shoulder. The pain in my chest was often bearable but then there were moments when it returned with strong force. “Damon and Robyn, it would be amazing if they were going to be parents. I would happily mind the child.” He chuckled.
“Oh, I know you would,” he said, kissing my forehead.
“Do you think it’s going to be a boy or girl?”
“Now that’s a tough one. I’d like to say girl, but maybe a boy?”
“Oh, I’d love a girl. I always wanted a daughter. I have Robyn though.” I smiled, kissing his cheek softly. “Thank you, Channing, for being you.” He gave me a warm smile as I ran my fingers through his hair.
“And thank you for being so perfect.” He claimed my lips with his, and although I was far from perfect, for him to look at me with such adoration and love made me feel like I was worth something. I hugged him tightly.
“Thank you.”
“Okay, you need to stop thanking me,” he remarked, wrapping his strong arms around me and tickling me. I laughed, trying to get away before he stopped and pulled me in front of him. “Moni…”
“Yes?” I asked, looking up at him. He looked serious, and I saw the conflict in his eyes. Whatever it was, it was serious.
“If Anna ever moves on and marks someone… would you allow me to mark you?” He asked quietly.
