My eye catches on the object of my thoughts as she strides down the sidewalk to meet me. Her wavy brown hair shimmers in the sunlight, and her pale pink dress swirls around her thick thighs. Thighs I can only hope one day soon will be wrapped around my hips as I bury myself in her wet heat.

My groin tightens at my wayward thoughts, and I jerk my gaze up only to have it catch on the ribbon crisscrossing her chest, tied with a neat bow right between the mounds threatening to spill out. It’s all my fantasies come to life, and she’s the present I've always wanted just waiting to be unwrapped.

I. Am. So. Fucked.

She smiles at me tentatively. “Last chance to back out.”

Shaking my head, I hold out my arm for her to take. “Not a chance.”

She sighs as she slips her hand into the crook of my elbow. “Alright then. Thank you for doing this.”

Brooks appears with a bouquet and he holds out to Kayla. “Every bride has to have flowers. I can’t believe the florist thought she would go without on her wedding day.”

She gives him a watery smile. “They’re beautiful. Thank you.”

He tips his head my way. “Thank your groom. He called Lori and told her to have something ready for you that you would love.”

Her head whips my way, hazel eyes wide. “That was very thoughtful of you. Thank you.”

I wink. “Only the best for my bride.”

She ducks her head, but I catch her cheeks pinkening before she does.

I sweep my arm towards the steps. “Shall we?”

She nods. “I suppose so.”

We enter the brick building, and I lead the way to the judge’s chambers. His receptionist smiles when she sees us.

“Right on time. He’s ready for you,” she says as she opens the door.

I stop just inside the threshold and slide Kayla’s hand from my arm. She glances at me with pinched brows when I step away. Brooks fills my spot as I stand next to the judge.

He smiles at her. “Didn’t think I would pass up the opportunity to give you away, did you?”

She blows out a breath, shaking her head. “You two are going to make me cry.”

They cross the few feet from the doorway to where I stand with the judge. My chest tightens when Brooks kisses her cheek, but it relaxes when he places her hand in mine.

The ceremony lasts only a few minutes as we vow to love, honor, and obey each other in sickness and in health.

When the judge asks for the rings, Kayla starts to shake her head, but stops abruptly, gasping when she sees me pulling one from my pocket. Just like the flowers, there’s no way I could let this woman marry me without a ring. I don’t want any doubt from anyone, including her, that she isn’t mine in every way.

Her eyes widen when she gets a better look at the round solitaire inset on a white gold band with flowers engraved on it. “It’s beautiful,” she murmurs.

“Just like you,” I reply with a wink and am rewarded with those pink cheeks once again.

The judge pronounces us husband and wife, and my chest swells. When he finally gives me permission to kiss the woman I’ve been longing for for years, you better believe I swoop in before he finishes the words.

Capturing her lips, I swallow her gasp of surprise and use the opening to sweep my tongue into her mouth, massaging hers with mine. I take my time savoring not only the moment but her, completely forgetting where we are when she melts into me. Istrive to quench my thirst for her, but know, deep down, I will never get my fill.

“Dude,” Brooks mutters, punching my arm.

I reluctantly pull back, throwing him a glare for interrupting my first kiss with my wife. My chest puffs at the dazed, glassy look in her eyes, and I do my best not to smirk when her fingertips come up to brush her swollen, rosy lips.

She presses those lips together and peers up at me through her lashes. It’s all I can do not to throw her over my shoulder and cart her off to bed. I concentrate on breathing in and out through my nose as I struggle to curtail the lust boiling through my blood.

All it’s taken is a single kiss, and I’m ready to fall even knowing I have no parachute and the crash at the bottom will certainly smash me to pieces should this not work out.
