His thumb circled my clit as he pushed another finger in, forcing a moan out of my mouth.

“Hush up for me, sweetheart. We don’t want to draw any attention to ourselves now, do we?”

My head fell limp against the shelf as he continued, pumping his fingers in and out of me as I faded into a state of pure bliss, trying to stabilize my breathing.

“Read, Bambi.” He commanded.

How…My eyes trailed up and down the page. “Before the sun set that morni…”Oh my God.I couldn’t focus on any word or any line or fuck –I can’t see straight…

“Hunter, I’m – I’m close…” I groaned in pleasure, my adrenaline pushing me further and further to my climax.

He wore a devilish smirk as he quickened his pace, pulsing his fingers in just the right places. “Pull that pretty lace to the side for me, sweetheart. I need to fill you properly.”

I did as I was told and he placed a swift kiss on my cheek before I came apart on his fingers, throwing a hand over my mouth to silence my moans.

Slowly he lowered my knees, straightening them out so they fell parallel to the grey carpeting. I watched as one by one, he slid two fingers into his mouth, lickingmeoff of him then stood up, holding out a hand for me to take.

There is no way that just happened. No way.I couldn’t even move, still trying to recover from the orgasm he just gave me in PUBLIC while attempting to regulate the dampness in my underwear.

As if Hunter didn’t just finger blast me against a bookshelf, he took the novel out of my hands and surveyed the cover. “This all or do ya want to look around some more?”

My jaw dropped as he snorted and nudged me forward, placing a firm hand on my back to exit out of the aisle.

“Is that normal for you?” I posed, keeping up his pace to the register. I couldn’t believe how calm and composed he was after having done, well…me.

“Is what normal?” He furrowed his brows so sarcastically I could’ve ripped them right off his forehead.

“What you did back there?”

With a sly grin, he shrugged his shoulders. “I guess I was still hungry for somethin’ sweet.”

My legs turned to jelly as he placed the book down at the register, paying the cashier before I could even grab my purse.

On our walk back to his truck, I inhaled the fresh air and stored it in my lungs, feeling like I could breathe for the first time without Hunter’s demanding presence on top of me… and yet, that is exactly where I wanted him to be.

“Why did you do that?” I murmured, pressing my legs together as I strapped into the passenger seat.

With one line he cracked me open. With one line he stabbed his Hunter Lane charm inside my heart, and watched me bleed.

“You said you liked romance, didn’t you Bambi?”

Chapter Forty-One

Hunter

Since our first date three and a half months ago, Bambi and I didn’t let each other go.

Three and a half months of pure fucking heaven.

We attended Josh’s Fourth of July party down at Cabbelforg Beach, a pristine location on the opposite side of Rivertown Bay. My old buddy Carter came down from Boston, so we had the boys back together for the weekend while Bambi brought up Winter and Cramer who rounded up a few of their friends as well.

I’d never watched the fireworks with any girl before, besides my mom when we’d go sailing during the show. But this was a different feeling, incomparable to anything I’d ever felt in my entire damn life.

It was during the show that I asked Bambi to be my girlfriend. Having her wrapped up in a blanket against me, huddled together like a bunch of cuddly koalas, it was the right time and I knew it. Truly a concoction of pure happiness – nah, fuck that…

It washome.

In an interesting turn of events, after the first night of our festivities, I knocked on Josh’s door to find him tangled up with none other than Winter fucking Camden.
