I swallowed hard, looking to my company but they were already making room for the guys to slip in.

“Order any drinks yet?” The man beside Hunter said, as he slid into the spot next to Winter.

I recognized him as Hunter’s best friend, Josh I think. God, he really was a cutie too. His brown hair was short and shaved at the sides, and he sported that porn stache girls went feral for.Including me.

He, too, wore a black dress shirt with grey jeans to match. They looked like two dark knights in the midst of chaos, and I was soaking in every second of it.

“Care to trade places with me, man?” Hunter addressed, staring at Cramer dead in the face.

When Cramer finally clued in to where he was looking, he got up and sat beside Josh who quickly engaged him in conversation about football.

“Hi, sweetheart.” Hunter released, taking his place next to me.

I inhaled the scent of his cologne, trying to tame every fiber of my being but it was almost impossible.Like fighting off a tiger with a spoon.

“You look nice.” I smiled.More than nice, holy crap.

“Stole the words right outta my mouth, Bambi.”

I blushed and there was nothing stopping me anymore. I couldn’t contain the attraction I felt, that I always felt.Maybe he may actually kiss me tonight…

“Hunty, I was hoping I’d see you here.” A blonde waitress approached our table, boobs out on full display.

Hunty?

He shifted to the side, wrapped an arm around her as she leaned down to kiss him on the cheek.

Oh. My. God.Red hot fury, that was all I felt. Fuck! I wasn’t jealous, noI’m not. But… really? She looked just like the girl he was hooking up with at Rivertown Bay. The L.A blondie with big lips and long blonde hair. Clearly he’s got a type.

“How you doin’, Britt?” His voice was levelled, calm.

She tapped her black acrylic nails on the wooden table and ogled him, completely ignoring the presence of the entire freaking table.

“You haven’t answered me in a while, I was worried ‘bout you.”

Hunter turned to face Josh who had a hard time holding in laughter as he whispered something into Winter’s ear.

After a few moments, Hunter turned his attention back toBritt.“Doin’ just fine, darlin’.”

“Well how’s about we get you started on a free drink, my treat?”

I watched his eyebrows raise in content. “Not gon’ say no to that.”

“Whisky on ice?” She perked, bouncing on her heels.

“You got it.”

Again, she paid zero mind to anyone else and scurried through the crowd of people, fleeing into the kitchen quarters by the bar.

“Kitty’s persistent, I give her that.” Josh joked, his eyes following a group of girls that walked by.

Hunter didn’t respond and turned to me as if that entire interaction with blonde number two didn’t happen.

“What’d you get to drink, sweet cheeks?”

I folded my arms over my chest, suddenly extremely hyper aware of the way he was looking at me.

“Cramer ordered us some.”
