“Yeah, she’s outside. We wouldn’t let her in since she’s not on the guest list, but she said she figured you’d be here and wanted to talk to you.”

“Fuck.” Silas shakes his head.

“I tried tellin’ her to leave, but she said she wouldn’t until she sees you. I didn’t want her to cause a scene, so I told her I’d come get ya.”

“Can I punch her?” I ask. “Just once?”

“No,” Warren says. “Any other time or place would be fine but not here.”

I roll my eyes. What a fun-sucker.

“Tell her I’ll be out there in a minute.”

Warren nods, glancing between us, then walks away.

“I hate her,” I say matter-of-factly.

“Don’t worry, baby. I’m gonna get rid of her.”

“Like…” I slice my finger across my neck. “Or?”

Silas looks at me like I’ve lost my mind.

Maybe I have.

“What? You saidget rid of herlike some mafia cowboy, so I was just checkin’. And ’cause I was offerin’ to help carry the body.”

He barks out a soothing laugh. “No, I’ll handle it. She can’t stand rejection and that’s why she’s threatenin’ to make a scene.”

“Fine. But if you aren’t back in eight minutes, I’m comin’ out with my heels ready to stab a bitch.”

They’re five inches, so they could do some damage if I threw them hard enough.

“Okay, calm down, Ninja Warrior. Stay here.”

He quickly kisses the top of my head before walking out the door.

I’m anything but calm as I sit at the table and tap my feet. Luckily, Bellamy comes over and forces me onto the dance floor, which is a nice distraction. Since she already knows about us, I tell her where he is.

“Well, she can’t fight both of us. Let’s go.” She nods toward the exit.

“No, I’m gonna trust Silas to handle it. He knows what he’s doin’.”

“You’re right. He’s obsessed with you.” She makes a disgusted face. “It’s gross, really.”

I playfully push her. “No, it’s not!”

We continue dancing for three more songs before I spot Silas out of the corner of my eye, standing with Warren and Colton, actively trying not to stare at me. But I catch him.

“I’m gonna go,” I say in her ear so she can hear me above the loud music. “Cover for me.”

I’m dying to know what happened with Aundrea.

“Alright, but you owe me!”

“I will!” I give her a quick hug before grabbing my heels and clutch from the chair I set them on. Without saying a word, I glance at Silas who’s already watching me.

I tilt my head toward the exit, then walk out.
