"Is that a walkie-talkie?" I gasp. Jake and I use to have those when we were little. We would go to opposite ends of the house and talk for hours.

We kept them for a long time. When I was sent to my room and not allowed to come out, he would always call me on that to talk.

He always made me feel better.

I wonder if Grey has it to call the chef whenever he wants to tell him that he wants food. That's something I would totally do.

I look up expecting to see Grey sitting at his desk but he's not. I look around the room like caveman Spongebob and he's not here.

The gun guy had to have kidnapped him. With quite a bit of difficulty though, because Grey is a bit bigger than the gun guy. Then again, he has agunso.

I nearly poop my pants when the door behind me suddenly opens. Grey comes into view and I sigh in relief. Then a sweet tea comes into view as he closes the door behind him.

He hands it to me and I bite my lip to keep from smiling. He got this for me. He was actually listening when I was rambling off?

"Thank you," I say softly, releasing my lip before he sees it.

I basically chug the sweet tea. I can feel his eyes on me as I do. He's probably thirsty. I pull my lips away from the glass and catch my breath a bit. His dark eyes find mine.

"Thirsty?" I hold the glass out to him. He averts his gaze from me, closing his eyes, and clenching his amazing jaw.

My phone suddenly rings. I haven't heard that thing ring in a good year or so. No one ever calls me.

Grey scowls at the source of the loud noise.

I hurry and answer.

"Hello! I am calling about your car insurance policy!"

"Hi!" I say, quite frankly excited someone is calling me.

"It seems that your car insurance needs to be upgraded!"

"Does it? I didn't know it could be upgraded," I answer back and Grey narrows his eyes at me.

"Of course! We only want the best for our customers! Now all I need is your credit card number and everything will be fixed!" She says happily and I wince.

Does she even know my name?

"Well, I don't have a credit card-" I'm cut off when Grey grabs my phone from my hands.

"Why don't you fuck off?" He grumbles into the phone before he hangs up on the lady.

"I was having a nice little talk with her," I mumble and he turns to me, "she wanted to upgrade my car insurance."

"The number is from North Dakota."

Maybe that's where my insurance office is.

"I don't know where my car insurance place is," I furrow my eyebrows.

"Are you stupid? It's a fuckin' scam," He growls out and my mood falters. I thought he was getting better.

"I didn't know," I say quietly. How was I supposed to know it was a scam? I never get those calls.

He's right. I am stupid. She didn't even ask for my name.

"How do you even take care of yourself?" He grumbles, his face set harshly, his jaw locked.
