My nose wrinkles. Ew. Has my sperm donor ever slept with his employees? A full body shudder wracks through me and I shove that train of thought straight out of my head. I open the schedule.
“You have a ten o’clock with Orwell Associates, a lunch with Opal Comms, and a two o’clock with Branson Entertainment.”
“Clear the schedule. Call Winston and get him here within the hour.”
I blink and glance at him. “Every meeting?”
He glares at me. “Did you hit your head this weekend? What do you think clear the schedule means?”
Dick. “Right. I’ll get it done.”
“Get me a coffee and breakfast.”
What, no please? “Of course, sir,” I say, like a dutiful, good little administrative assistant.
“My dry cleaning is ready for pick up, too.”
Grinding my teeth, I simply nod and start a list of all his demands. I guess I won’t be planting the virus today.
Vivian joins me at the lunch table. “So, how’s your day?”
I give her a look.
She chuckles. “I heard he was on one. Rumor is the stocks are down 15%.”
“Oh really?” I widen my eyes. “How does that even happen?”
“Do you not watch the news? Some old employee is accusing Tristan of harassment. An old associate came forward too.”
And the smear campaign has begun. “Did he do it?”
She presses her lips together and shrugs. “Who knows.”
I stab my salad. “So, you and Ellen, huh?”
Gasping, she grabs my arm and leans toward me. “Shh!” She glances around and lowers her voice. “How do you know?”
“You guys weren’t exactly discreet this morning, but don’t worry. Your dirty little secret is safe with me.”
She sits back, searches my face. “What do you want?”
My eyebrows lift. “What?”
“To keep the secret. What do you want?”
I frown. “Nothing. I’m not going to tell anyone, mainly because I like you, but also, if you leave, who will fill me in on all the rumors?”
A grin tugs at her lips. “So you’re not going to extort me?”
“Man, those people you worked with before must have been real assholes.”
She laughs. “You can say that again.”
“Is the sex good?”
“So good,” she says with a sigh. “I’ve never met an alpha like her. She’s so?—”
“Scary?”
