“I’ve been researching,” she explains. “I think I want to be an athletic trainer one day.”
“Well, in that case, I volunteer to be your patient anytime.”
She giggles, and the sweet sound worms its way inside my chest.
“I might just take you up on that. Enjoy your night,” she says before finally opening the door to reveal Seth on the other side.
“Oh shit, Parker,” he gasps.
“Hey.” She giggles again, but this time it’s like a knife straight through my heart because it’s not directed at me.
I shift on the couch to get a better view, and he spots me.
“Oh hey, Linc. How’s it going?”
“Yeah, it’s…going. Watch yourself tonight,” I warn.
He smirks and rolls his eyes.
“Yeah, yeah. I got it. She’ll be home safe and sound by eleven.”
“Good to hear it.”
“See you later,” she calls over her shoulder. “Have a good evening.”
And then the door closes behind her, and she’s gone.
Have a good evening.As if that’ll be possible.
The urge to follow them burns through me, but I can’t.
I might not want Seth to have her, but I can’t have her either.
I just have to hope that one way or another, he royally screws this up, so I have a really fucking good excuse to teach him a lesson.
A really fucking painful lesson.

Ilied to Linc. I don’t have a date tonight.
That’s the last thing I need.
It’s nothing more than a hookup.
After the stress of the last few days, and then the way he was looking at me in the gym this morning, I realized that I need a release.
Sure, I could go and replace my favorite vibrator. Hell, I’m definitely going to do that. But I need more than that.
I need a man. One who can take everything away for a few minutes and leave me feeling sated and limp and tingling with aftershocks.
I have a few regulars for when my itch needs a decent scratch. Guys who are only interested in a good time when a girl needs it.
And thankfully, when I opened Tinder after the gym incident this morning, it seemed that my luck was in, because there was a message waiting for me from a guy I only see a couple of times a year when he comes to town.
