My eyes roll back with a huff of laughter. I run my hands over his ribs, still feeling his heart pound and chest heave, coming down from our post-orgasm high. His smile is something I can’t look away from. I reach up and rub his stubble with my thumb.

His eyes feel like they peer into my soul, in an all consuming way that makes my pulse quicken. He’s gentle, but still rough with me, the way I need. In a way that reminds me that I’m not broken, that I’m strong.

Somehow, he feels like he was always supposed to be the one for me, the one I was supposed to love.

He might say he’s the lucky one, but all I can think about is how lucky I am to be loved by him. Lying here in my room, this place has always felt cozy, but it never felt like a home. With him hovering over me though, any place would feel like home.

I know I never want this feeling to end.

I grab his shaggy hair, pulling him down to me for another kiss, letting my lips say all the words running through my head.

“Now that I have your attention.” I wrap my calves around his firm ass, pulling his still impressively hard erection into me, eliciting a low grunt from him. “We’re going to talk about how you need to stop using your jet like that.”

He chuckles. “Oh. Not fair. You’re playing dirty. You could ask me to do anything when I’m buried in you and my cum is still dripping out of you, and I would say yes a thousand times.”

“You know you don’t need to impress your girlfriend like that.” The word girlfriend floats on my tongue and it’s never felt more right, while also feeling like it’s not nearly enough for our bond.

His smile becomes almost boyishly excited. “Anything you want as long as you keep calling yourself my girlfriend.”

I nod. “Good. So next time, keep the planet in mind,” I say with a wink. “Still love you though.”

“Love you too,” he rasps, chuckling to himself.

He rolls over, and my body instantly misses the fullness and warmth of him on top of me. He lays next to me, wrapping his arm around my shoulder and pulling me close. I lay my head on his shoulder and we just lay there like that.

“Grace,” he says, his voice trailing up in question.

“Yes?” I trace lazy circles over his chest hair with my fingers.

“Who’s been taking care of these house plants?” I look up to see his eyes lingering on the plants hanging over the headboard.

“Oh. Yeah. Kayleigh was taking care of them at first but my dad’s been stopping in the last couple of weeks too.”

He nods. “Got it. Your dad.” I feel his body tense under my head.

Shit. I got so caught up in getting into bed with Tommy that I forgot I already planned to meet my dad tonight.

 “Yeah, so about that.”

His eyes flick to mine and I scrunch my shouldersinnocently.

“I was already supposed to see him for dinner tonight. Would you want to come?”

He looks up and he rocks his head side to side, his tell that he’s mulling it over. I forgot that somehow, in the commotion of the wedding and reception, he might not have met my dad that night. I know he’s not afraid of a challenge, but I’m sure meeting your girlfriend’s dad is never going to be easy.

I splay my fingers over his chest, looking up at him. “It’s OK if that’s too much too soon. We can do it another time.”

He looks back at me, pressing a kiss to the back of my hand. Letting out a deep breath, he nods. “No. It’s perfectly fine. I was going to have to meet him eventually.”

His warm smile fills me with something that’s been missing, a feeling that I do know what’s next. One way or another, deep down I know a life with him is next. With the way he saideventually,it’s like he knows it too.

 FOR ME

“Doyou guys have a rolodex of dive bars or something?” I ask, holding Grace in my lap at the high-top table with Josie.
