He arched his hips, creating a delicious friction, and Cara lifted hers to demand more. She whimpered when he repeated the mind melting motion, grinding into her.

“Wes,” she tried to wrap her legs around him, but he sat back on his heels, his eyes feasting on her body. Wes trailed an open hand down her breasts, to circle her belly button, before arriving where she needed his touch the most. His fingers slicked over her, two fingers plunging inside. Cara cried out, her back arching at the delicious torment.

Wes bent to take one blush-pink peak into his mouth, sucking hard as his fingers stroked inside, his thumb pressing and circling her clit until she thought she would lose her mind.

“Wes. I can’t wait! I need…” Cara’s head thrashed against the pillow as his fingers drove her higher and higher until her orgasm crashed over her. Wes found her mouth again. His kiss was slow and luxurious, as tremors still rippled through her, but still she ached.

Cara hooked a leg over Wes’s hips, pulling him against her. He closed his eyes, a look of pain etched on his face. “We can’t. I didn’t bring anything,” he panted.

Cara rolled her hips so that he slid against her, and licked at his lips. “Top drawer, side table.”

Wes’s brows slanted, making Cara giggle. “Corinne told me she stocked all the bedrooms, just in case.”

His groan of relief made Cara giggle again.

“Remind me to buy her flowers,” Wes grunted, as he reached for the condom and rolled it on. Cara reveled when his weight settled over her, his kiss hot and full of need. Cara wrapped her hands around him, stroking his length, and guided him to her. “Please, Wes,” she begged between kisses. He buried his face in her neck, sucking and nipping.

“I’ll never smell honeysuckle again and not think of this,” Wes groaned. With one thrust he sank fully into her. Cara shuddered as his hand cupped her breast, rolling the nipple between his fingers.

“Oh god! Yes!”

Wes moved slowly at first, and Cara whimpered as pleasure built again. “The feel of you,” Wes groaned. His hands gripped her hips hard as he worked in and out of her. Cara gasped as sensation coiled tighter and tighter inside her.

He slid one of his hands behind her knee, bending it back toward her chest as he thrust harder. Cara dug her nails into the muscles of his back, instinctively moving with him. She relished the feeling of Wes driving into her. Her orgasm caught her by surprise with its intensity as it swept over her.

Wes collapsed half-on, half-off of her and pressed a kiss to her shoulder. Cara lazily ran her fingernails up and down his biceps. Her heart swelled, and she turned her head to meet his eyes.

“That was a good start.”

He arched a brow, “For?”

“Making it up to me.”

Wes leaned back and grinned. “I’m just getting started.”

CHAPTERFORTY-SEVEN

“Get up, sleepyhead.”Cara nudged Wes with her toe. “My brother is going to be here soon.”

Wes grumbled into the pillow. “You broke me. I need sleep.”

Cara grinned. “I’ll make you a deal. After my shower, I’ll go find us some coffee.”

Wes lifted his head and leered suggestively at her. “I could get up for a shower.”

“I’m sure you could, but we are short on time.”

Wes grumbled and closed his eyes, snuggling into his pillow again.

Cara took a quick shower, dressed, and packed her suitcase. Wes snored quietly in the tangle of sheets, and a warm glow spread through her. She pressed a kiss to his cheek, dodging his arm when he tried to pull her back to the bed with his eyes closed.

“I’ll be back in five minutes. Get up.”

Wes grumbled his agreement, and Cara made her way down the wide stone steps, lost in her thoughts. She couldn’t remember being as happy as she was in that moment. As the foyer below came into view, she stumbled, catching herself on the railing, her happiness dissipating in the face of the reality that was her life.

Standing below, tucked into the curve of the staircase so that he wasn’t immediately visible to someone coming in through the front doors, was Elliot Keller. Hearing her tread on the stairs, his head jerked up with an expression of relief on his face.

Was he waiting for her? Unease skittered up her spine. There was nothing to be afraid of. The house was full of people.
