“How long do you plan on sticking around?” I asked, growing a little irritated with the conversation as we cruised along.
It was nice catching up with her, but it was a distraction in my life that I didn’t need.
“Wow, Six. Tell me how you really feel. You ready for me to go already?”
“You have a life, right? Friends, a job. Soon I’ll be starting school, and I got a lot going on myself.”
“Like being Brick’s kept woman?” she tittered, shaking her head. “You realize who you acting like, right?”
“What are you talking about?” I sneered, glancing her way.
“What am I talking about? Please, Six, you mean to tell me you would feel this way about Brick if he wasn’t rich? Be for fucking real. And how long you think you can keep a nigga like that without giving up the pussy?”

“No, let’s take a little ride together.” I heard the click, and when I looked her way, she had a black nine-millimeter aimed at me. “And lose the little shadow back there.” She glanced in her side mirror at my detail on my ass.

“You’re crazy.”I pressed the gas and switched lanes to get rid of Brick’s guard on me.
“Maybe, but I’ll be a well-off, crazy bitch when I’m done with you two. Now, you need me to Google which highway for you to take, or you got this?”
“You’re not going to get away with this, Leni.”
“We’ll see. Don’t make me do anything you’ll regret, baby sister. All we have to do is go confront that bitch and take her for everything she’s got. She deserves that and so much more after all the shit she put us through.”
“So take the car and go, Leni. I don’t care. I left all that shit in the past, and I’m not trying to go back! I’m making a good life for myself here.”

“Does it fucking matter!” I spat. “We haven’t been sisters in a long time. You stopped giving a damn about me and looked out for you! I was the one stuck with Darlene all these years. She let her sons abuse us and didn’t have any fucking remorse for it. Karma will take care of her.”
“Fuck karma. This is my fucking karma!” She waved the gun in front of me. “Matter of fact, pull this shit over. I’ll drive!”
I didn’t know what she was capable of, but I wasn’t ready to risk my life for it. I steered the car off to the side and hit the brake to park. Sighing, my focus remained ahead, even though I knew she was sitting there with that gun aimed at me.
“You don’t have to do this, Leni.”
“Six, give it up, this is happening, OK. I’m going to get compensated one way or another.”
“Then let me help you. I got like forty-five thousand in an account. It’s yours. Just . . . go live your life.”
“Awww, now isn’t that generous! I may just take you up on that. But Darlene is where the big money is, and I need that. I can’t live off no damn forty-five racks for long. A bitch needs tomake some investments, and Skully also has product, so it’s a double score. Now, slowly get out of the car and walk around the back. I’ll meet you there. Try something, and I won’t think twice about pulling the trigger,” she threatened once we each stepped out.
