It’s funny because a little over a month ago, no one—other than the guys—knew anything about me. Women only knew I was hot, and I owned a gym, or in their words, I am rich as fuck. Lying was commonplace for me. But after I let Serena in, telling her my most intimate stories and details—ones the guys don’t even know—it makes this lying thing agonizing.
But again, I have to keep our goal in mind. There’s a reason I’m doing this. And, it’ll all work out in the end.
Hopefully.
One billion.
I shook hands on one billion dollars.
That’s right.
I fucking sold out.
Don’t fucking look at me like that. He offered, and I took it. It was the fourth time we met, and Hiram offered me one billion dollars to revoke my bid in secret. With no other choice, I accepted.
To him, officially, I’m taking his money and my gym out of the running. Unofficially, though, I am a step closer to figuring out what he’s true intentions are with this space. With me not visibly working against him—in his perception – he won’t see me digging deeper into his past and his real motivation for buying the retail space at Clarendon Tower.
One billion might keep me quiet, but it’ll never stop me from fighting for the love of my life, and the life Serena and I both deserve.
But it’ll keep her safe.
And right now, that’s all I need before I can make my next move.
