“Again.”
“I love you.”
“Again.”
“Finn!”
“What? You can’t blame me. Those are the best fucking words I’ve ever heard come out of anyone’s lips before,” he said, kissing her again. “I love you, princess. More than you could imagine.”
Gianna leaned against his body, accidentally pressing against one of the bruises on his abdomen. He let out a groan, hissing in pain. She sat up immediately, looking at all the bruises and marks on him.
“What can I do to help with the pain?” she asked.
He reached for her again, attempting to pull her back down. “Don’t move away from me for starters.”
She rolled her eyes. “You’re in pain. Let’s get that solved first and then we can cuddle all night.”
“Fine,” Finn sighed. “In the bathroom cabinet I have some pain meds. There’s a first aid kit under the sink too. Grab them and bring them out here.”
Gianna did exactly that, coming out a minute later. She handed him the water on the nightstand and two pills, helping him sit up so he could take them before transitioning him against some pillows leaning on the bedframe.
She opened the first aid kit, staring at the contents in confusion. “So, what do I do now?”
He shook his head, letting out a small laugh. “There are some instant ice packs in there. You pop them and they freeze immediately. You can help ice the bad bruises.”
She grabbed two of the ice packs, popping them like he instructed and placing one on his stomach and the other on his neck where a couple of bruises stood. She hadn’t seen them earlier, but from what she could tell it was from wherever he had been with Allister. She gave him one more for the back of the head where he was hit with the gun.
Gianna frowned, grabbing his hand. “I’m really sorry Allister hurt you like this. Valerio too. They shouldn’t have touched you.”
“Not your fault, princess. You didn’t do anything. Besides, I’m sure I’ll end up beating their asses eventually. That’ll be my karma.” Finn shrugged.
She nodded her head, accepting it. “Well, no one is going to put their hands on you ever again. Not without your permission. Your fights are a different thing.”
He squeezed her hand, bringing it up to his lips. “Since when did you become so protective over me?”
“Why? You don’t like it?”
“No, I fucking love it. It’s sexy seeing you get all possessive and defensive over me.”
Gianna couldn’t help the blush on her face. She instead focused on closing the first aid kit, setting it beside the bed. “Well, you’re mine and I’m not going to let anything happen to you.”
“Oh fuck,” he groaned, looking at her with dark eyes. “Say it again, princess.”
“You can’t get all worked up. You literally can’t move without being in pain,” she said.
“I don’t give a shit,” he said, throwing the ice packs off. “Say it again. Say what you just said.”
She grinned, shaking her head. “I said that you’re mine.”
Within a split second he flipped her over on the bed, hovering over her with a wild look in his eyes. “Now, that is the second-best fucking thing that has ever come out of your mouth.”
Her hands wrapped their way into his hair, getting lost in the soft brown curls that sat against his forehead. She wrapped her legs around his waist, just then noticing how the towel that was around his waist earlier had slipped off and he was left completely bare now.
“You’re naked,” she whispered.
Finn grinned, pulling on the straps of her tank top. “Am I? How convenient is that?”
“You should be resting, not doing any strenuous activity.” Her argument fell on deaf ears as he began placing soft kisses against her neck, sucking and licking the skin under her jaw before moving down her clavicle.
