The blindfold was gone. My hands and feet had been released from their restraints. When had Logan undone them?

I looked up to find Logan smiling down at me as he pulled a blanket up to cover me. “You’re amazing, love.” He brushed a stray hair away from my face.

I licked my dry lips. “Thank you, Sir. That was—good. Really good.” My face heated, wondering what I looked like after that scene.

He looked me in the eye, once again catching my chin in his fingers so I couldn’t evade his gaze. “Thank you for trusting me, doll. Now, it’s nearly bedtime. Are you okay to get up to get yourself ready for bed?”

I bit my lip, suddenly shy. “Can I… I mean, Sir, is it okay…”

Logan nodded. “Keep going, doll. You can ask me anything. Trust, baby.”

I took a deep breath. My face had to be several shades of red right now. Why did asking this make me feel more exposed than when he’d had me naked and spread on the bed? “Sir, may I sleep with you in here tonight?”

The next morning, the sun peeking through the curtains woke me. Logan was still snoring beside me. I was usually up before the sun, especially in winter when the sun came up so late. I grabbed my phone off the bedside table to check the time. Seven a.m.? I never slept that late.

Then again, I never had amazing orgasms to help me fall asleep, either. Maybe those were related somehow.

I looked down at Logan as he let out another soft snore. How was he still asleep?

I looked down at my phone, sitting still in the bed so I didn’t wake Logan. I swiped through the text messages.

Avery:You coming to Blackstone tonight? Need to talk wedding plans!

Kaylee:What happened with you and Logan? Details, girl!

Emma:Where are you? We missed you tonight. Brunch tomorrow?

I sent a group text back to all three, adding Alex and Paige as well.

Savannah:Missed you all last night! I’ll be away from the club for a bit…horse stuff! Would love to see you all for brunch and to chat. Let me know when you’re awake!

I put the phone down and slipped out of bed, doing my best to let Logan stay asleep. He didn’t stir as my feet hit the floor and I stood up, stretching, and looked out the window at the barn.

I peered back at Logan’s sleeping form. He might be fast asleep, but the horses would be up and ready for food. I may as well get dressed and start on turnout.

I pulled on clothes and my boots and made my way to the barn. I slid the heavy door open to the sound of neighing. The horses were awake, and yeah, they were hungry.

I looked around. There had to be a chart here somewhere, something that indicated which horses got turned out together. The last thing I needed was to put horses together who didn’t get along.

As I considered, the door slid open again. Craig walked in.

“Hey there, Savannah! Up early, huh?” He was all smiles.

“Hey, Craig. The sun’s up, so I’m up.” I grinned. “Was going to start turnout for you, but I wasn’t sure who likes whom. Didn’t want to cause any fights.”

Craig laughed. “Good thought. Our pastures are pretty big, so we end up doing mares in one, geldings in another. Pretty much everyone gets along. Lena gets her own space in the round pen for now.”

“Sounds good. Want me to start taking some out? Or I can do grain, whatever you’d like.”

Craig’s wizened face creased in a smile. “A girl who knows her horses. Glad to have you here, kiddo. I’ll do the grain if you want to start turnout.”

I grabbed a halter and lead line, starting with Storm, and began leading horses out to pasture, one at a time.

I saved Lena for last. Her belly swayed large below her, and if I looked closely, I could see the foal moving inside her. I closed the gate and leaned up against the fence by Lena. “How are you doing, girl? Any day now.”

Lena wandered away, and I blew her a kiss before I headed inside to muck stalls. I put in my earbuds and turned on some music as I grabbed a pitchfork and a wheelbarrow.

An hour later, I’d done one full side of the barn. I paused to wipe sweat from my brow. Even in cool weather, mucking stalls always had me working up a sweat. I pulled off my gloves to check my phone before I started on the next stall.
