Bitches! We were on the dance team together in high school. At least until I got bullied off of it. They’ve both always been pretty, from nice families, too. I thought Tiffany married her high school sweetheart. I can’t imagine why she’d cheat on a man as attractive as her husband, but shitty omegas do shitty things, I guess.
I can tell she wants to snap back at him, but Colter is a very dominant alpha, and she’s no match for that dominance.
“T-thats no one’s business,” Tiffany squeaks, but Colter’s attention is on Jen now.
“And you, Jen? Didn’t you try to scam three alphas with a fake insurance claim? And you have the nerve to talk behind the back of Sable for what? Liking three men she has a history with? Interesting choice,” Colter scoffs, turning his back on them and wrapping one arm around my shoulders so he can pull me in close to his side.
“I can’t believe you did that,” I whisper, staring up at him in admiration, “isn’t Tiffany Mrs. Baker’s granddaughter?” I ask.
“Seems like they share the same cruel spirit then,” Colter growls loud enough for everyone around us to hear.
“Colter,” I gasp, a little worried about what kind of backlash I might face after his harsh words, but the way he’s defending me? Hot. So fucking hot. My scolding has no effect on him anyway, and I can’t help but giggle when he shrugs.
“I wasn’t going to stand there and watch them antagonize you. You don’t deserve any of it,” he growls, taking a deep breath, no doubt catching all the scents of my recent adventures. “Fucking hell,” he says, glancing down at me.
“It was an eventful night,” I say, blushing profusely.
“I’ll fucking bet it was. Sure smells like you enjoyed yourself.” His teasing smirk is too damn attractive.
“Come over tonight. I’ll make you dinner to say thank you for the rescue,” I offer.
“You don’t need to thank me for this, Sable. Those omegas are mean hags. I don’t like the way they treated you. Or the way they looked at you,” he sends eye daggers at them as they scurry past us after grabbing their drinks.
“They’re going to talk about me no matter what I do. Might as well give them something fun to gossip about,” I say, even though I don’t really mean it, I just want to calm the big guy down before he starts insulting the entire town. “Come on, keep me company tonight, I get lonely when I’m all alone.” Colter looks like he might say no, so I push my bottom lip out and snuggle against him, squeezing his middle as I look up into his eyes. “Please.”
“That’s not fair,” Colter murmurs softly. A hint of his scent finally hits me, and I suck in a deep breath, trying to get more. I wonder why he’s wearing a blocker today, maybe for work? “I would love to have dinner with you tonight, but I’ll cook.”
“No! How am I supposed to thank you if you’re the one cooking?” I complain, pouting once more, but holding back a smile now.
“You could be dessert,” he offers in a quiet growl that sends heat pummeling through my system. “Or bring some,” he adds with a smirk, and I lick my lips as his words really sink in. “I don’t want you to think I defended you to get something from you, omega.”
“Okay,” I agree.
“Sable,” the barista calls, breaking the tension between the alpha and me. He releases me, taking a deep breath, and I grab my coffee before turning back to him.
“Come pick me up at eight.”
“Alright, Sable. I’ll see you then.”
Sable
Sable: I have a date with Colter tonight. He’s making me dinner. I’m the dessert.
Plum: Damn girl, get it!
Sable: He defended me against Tiffany and Jen at the coffee shop. It was hot as fuck.
Plum: Oh. My. God. Suck that man's dick right now. Those two omegas are fucking atrocious. He deserves it. And so do you.
She includes a series of emojis that, with context, must mean something along the lines of fuck him and come?
Sable: Also, I hooked up with Rhian last night. While Taron watched.
Plum: WTF? Scandalous!
Sable: At the haunted trail… against a tree.
Plum: Wow. Here I was thinking I was the adventurous one.
