Plum: Stop it, you’re making me blush. See you here. I’m waiting for you in the parking lot, BTW. So hurry up!

I chuckle, stuffing my phone back in my purse. That's when I realize the guys have created a triangle around me because I’m still standing in the parking lot. They didn’t rush me or try to get me to hurry up. They just decided that anyone who came along could wait for me to finish, and they would protect me while they waited.

“Cute,” I tease, as I move past Colter, heading for his truck. “I’ll ride with Colter.”

“Actually, I bought a new car for this occasion,” Taron says, and I frown. Turning to look at him, very confused.

“What?”

“I didn’t want the four of us to have to take separate cars.” Taron shrugs, and I blink at him a few times, still frowning.

“So you bought a new car… There’s no dealership here. The closest one is two hours away,” I say, as if that somehow means he doesn’t have a new car at all.

“Right. A friend drove me there,” Taron says as he pulls his keys out of his pocket, hits a button, and a black SUV’s lights blink at us a row ahead.

“What friend?” I ask, not loving the jealousy that rises in my chest. Was it another omega? Fuck, I’m being unreasonable.

“Ricky from the bar. Technically, I paid the beta for the ride,” Taron explains as he walks ahead of us, as Colter reclaims his position at my side. I can hear Rhian chuckling behind me, so I glare at him over my shoulder.

“What’s so funny?” I hiss.

“Nothing. Just that I had this exact conversation with him just before dinner. Worried he got a ride from another omega?” Rhian lifts his brow at me, and I feel Colter’s shoulder shake rather than hear his chuckle. I shoot eye daggers at him next, but he keeps his eyes dead ahead.

“Nothing to be jealous of, little omega. I did all of this for you. For us,” Taron says, suddenly right in front of me as he scoops me into his arms, hugging me.

But you still won’t kiss me?But he’s trying. I feel like buying an SUV for a girl is more of a commitment than kissing is, but what do I know?

I press a kiss to his neck as he opens the back door of the sleek, all black SUV and helps me inside. I scoot across the seat as Taron helps Rhian in next, smacking the other omega’s ass before he sits beside me.

“Come here.” Rhian pulls me into his side, and I cuddle against him, but the second Colter gets in the passenger seat, he barks at us.

“Seat belts.”

“I like it when he’s bossy,” Rhian whispers as he helps me with my belt.

“His bark is sexy,” I agree, and catch a glimpse of a smile on the alpha’s face from his profile.

“We should provoke him more often.” Rhian grins as Taron climbs into the driver seat. The drive to the community center is a short one, and I can’t help but think how I haven’t been to a community dance since senior year in high school.

My nerves hike right up when we park. Two very public dates in one night. I’ll be lucky if the town gossips keep their mouths shut until tomorrow morning.

“I see Plum,” Rhian says, pointing out his window. She’s smiling widely, waving as she heads over to us. I wonder if she saw us through the front windows, or if she knew about the new car already.

Once we all climb out, I pull Plum in for a tight hug. Her similar dress swishes prettily around her legs in a soft green.

“Glad you came, Sugarbat,” she whispers in my ear, before hooking my arm with hers and heading inside.

It’s full, of course, and as we walk in, I’m convinced I’ll get sideways stares. And I get a couple, but for the most part, everyone else is too focused on what they’re doing and pays no attention to me, or the three men that keep close behind me.

“See, you were scared about nothing.” Plum gives my side a pinch before releasing my arm. “Now have fun with your guys. I’ve got an alpha to hunt down.” She winks and heads into the crowd.

“Nick’s hiding from her for sure,” Rhian chuckles, and I snort, taking his hand, and we head for the dance floor. I feel a little silly as I wrap my arms around his neck, and we join everyone else swaying on the dance floor.

When the song ends, Taron swoops in and wraps me up in his arms. Rhian chuckles, turning to Colter, arms open in invitation. I watch them for a moment as Colter’s cheeks blush pink as he accepts the offer from the other omega. When I glance back up at Taron, I almost expect to see jealousy in his eyes, but instead, he just smiles.

“I’m so glad you’re here with us tonight, Sable,” Taron murmurs, tightening his hold on me, and I rest my head against his chest as we sway to the slow song.

“Me too.”
