This time when my emotions tried to overwhelm me, I let them. My tears fell onto his face as I stole his lips again. My leg lifted over his body until I straddled him.
I’d thought about this so often, connecting with him like this. I’d worried in the past that my leg wouldn’t let me ride him for long, that I’d have to stop and I’d look weak. I realized now that was okay. I could be weak with him. It was safe.
My hand reached back until I found his cock, once again hard and ready for me. Dex’s hands held my hips steady as I angled it toward me. Then I lowered myself, and he sank back inside. Cum squelched and leaked out of me, and I shivered at the sensation.
“I love you,” I told him again once he was fully seated inside me.
“I love you too, baby.”
Then I rode him. My hands on his chest, my legs already trembling from the amount of times we’d fucked over the past day.
I pushed through it. Through the burn in my thighs, the ache in my leg, until it was too much. Then without even needing to ask him, he flipped us, pushing my legs up to my chest before plunging back into me again.
My tears turned to ones of pleasure as he filled me over and over.
When his leg started to ache too, we switched again. Slow, deep thrusts as we lay on our sides.
The fast, hard fucking had been necessary, but so was this. This sex so much deeper than pleasure and release. I came first, and he followed me shortly after.
Then we just lay there, limbs entangled and bodies connected, simply breathing each other’s air.
“How did you find me?” I asked long minutes after we’d both caught our breath.
He pursed his lips as if trying to decide whether he wanted to tell me. “No more secrets,” he sighed.
I kissed him again. “Nomore secrets.”
“Snake.”
“Harper?”
“Yeah, Harper Lorens from Lorens Industries. They make security tech. He gave me a tracker, and I gave it to you.”
My brow furrowed, my mind flicking through my meager possessions to determine what he could possibly have been tracking. I’d traded phones, cars, and clothing. What had I had with me this entire time? Then I found it. “The lighter.”
Dex nodded.
This whole fucking time he’d known exactly where I was. I was running, but I’d never been lost. He’d been with me from the beginning.
Maybe it should have made me angry, how pointless it all had been. All my rules. All my paranoia, and I hadn’t gotten rid of the one thing he’d actually been able to track me with.
I laughed. Deep, genuine laughter from somewhere inside me I’d thought was lost. Dex smiled, his own laughter joining mine.
“Of course it was the fucking lighter.” I gripped his cheeks so tight that his lips puckered before placing another firm kiss on them. “I’m still not giving it back.”
It was mine. And so was he.
Epilogue
One Month Later.
JONAH
It took us a month to get back to Port Skelton.
We weren’t in any rush. Port Skelton was where we had come from, but our home was with each other.
We found work on the road. Used fake names at shitty bars, not because we had to, but because it was fun. No one knew us and that was the way we liked it. We worked just enough to pay for a room and food, and whatever time wasn’t spent working or traveling was spent with our limbs tangled up together.
