“Not really.” Rhea shrugs when she gains her composure. “They’ve been a long time comin’, so none of this is surprising. I just have zero interest inanydetails involving your private time,” she says pointedly to me.

“It wasonetime and I had to tell someone.” I shrug unapologetically before shoving an entire strawberry in my mouth.

Cheyenne’s gaze bounces between us.

“Waylon was my first. I’d just turned twenty-one.” This timeIam the one blushin’.

“Jake was my first too. I mean, I obviously wasn’thisfirst but…” She fans her face and we all laugh.

“Mine was terrible, so I’m mildly jealous of the both of you.” Rhea frowns. “Actually I haven’t had anything that necessitated fanning my face when talkin’ about it.” Her frown deepens, and I pat her hand.

“You’ll find it.”

“Don’t settle, because those orgasms are no joke.” Cheyenne slaps her hand over her mouth and snort laughs.

“Who knew she was so fun?” I say playfully, wrapping my arm around her shoulder as Rhea grins at us over her glass.

“Y’all, I haven’t had this much fun in ages. I love my mama, but it’s nice to be around girls my own age,” Cheyenne says.

“That’s it; we’re making this a thing.” We cheer in agreement.

“Also, for the record,” Rhea says, drawing out the words, “I give myselfplentyof quality orgasms. I have a drawer full of help.”

My mouth hangs open, and Cheyenne’s face is as red as the strawberries on her plate. Full seconds pass as we process Rhea’s admission.

“Oh my God,” I squeak out before completely losing it and almost falling out of my chair.

The rest of the night is much of the same. We talk and laugh about anything and everything. It is close to eleven when Jake comes to pick up Cheyenne, and boy, they weren’t kidding.

Jake is over six feet with dark brown hair that is a little longer on the top and shorter on the sides. He is handsome, like a rugged cowboy, with chocolate-brown eyes that sparkle in the moonlight.

And that beard—oh my!

But what is most appealing is the genuine smile he wears when he looks at Cheyenne. Complete adoration fills his gaze as he looks over at his bride to be.

It makes my heart melt seein’ her so happy. I hug her again and make her promise to call me later in the week. She squeezes me back, and I feel the rightness of the moment—of this new friendship I intend to nurture.

Closing the door, Rhea and I clean up before getting ready for bed. While she uses the bathroom, I pull out my phone. I delete the text from Caleb without reading it and pull up my conversation with Waylon.

MARLEE:I missed you tonight.

WAYLON:Did you have fun? I always miss you.

Butterflies takehold in my belly, and I can’t stop the smile that spreads across my lips.

MARLEE:We had so much fun. Cheyenne is so amazing and we even got to meet Jake when he picked her up.

WAYLON:She’s good for him.

MARLEE:Like I’m good for you?

WAYLON:There’s no one better, Baby Girl. You going to sleep?

MARLEE:Yes

WAYLON:Sweet dreams, baby. I can’t wait to kiss you in the morning.

MARLEE:Sweet dreams, Way.
