“It’s not. Friends and family still count. You’re just making excuses, and if you’re not careful, you’re gonna make me say it and I’m not sure you’re ready.”
Oh my God. Oh my God. Oh my God.
I amdefinitelynot ready for that. Am I?
No. But I’m not as far off as I think either.
Because he’d been stealing little pieces of my heart since he moved in, and even though I didn’t want it, I can’t remember a time I’ve ever been this happy.
Like he’s reading my mind, his lips curve up into a knowing smirk as amusement dances in his eyes. He knows he’s right.
For now.
Because as much as I’ve tried to ignore it, I’ve been falling for him too.
“I think I need that orgasm you mentioned,” I say instead, hooking my leg over his and guiding him to my entrance.
“You’re trying to distract me.”
“Is it working?” I ask, tilting my hips as he rocks his.
“Yes, but…dammit, that feels good…we’re gonna come back to this conversation.”
“Later.”
“So much later.”

BRIDGER
“So, I was thinking…” I start as Saige looks up from her coffee to stare at me. She had a few minutes in the middle of her day, and I’d jumped at the chance to see her. “You’ve been trying to find a place for my parents for the last two weeks.”
“It’s not always a quick process, Band Camp. Just like a well written song, these things can take time.”
I grin and lean forward and press a quick kiss to her lips. She pouts when I pull back, but if I get distracted, I’ll lose my nerve.
“What if I move in with Corbin so my parents can buy my house?”
She ponders this, moving her head from side to side. “I don’t hate it. What do your parents say?”
“I haven’t asked them yet. I know it’s too early for us to be moving in together but?—”
“But you’ve already managed to commandeer a drawer, and your toothbrush is in my bathroom.” She points a finger at me and narrows her eyes. “Don’t even think about bringing your mismatched coffee mugs with you.”
“Oh, come on, some of those are classics,” I tease and she rolls her eyes. My heart stutters in my chest because she hasn’tflat-out saidyou’re fucking crazy if you think we’re moving in together someday.
Looking out at the water, Saige is silent, watching the waves kiss the shore. It’s beautiful and so is she.
“I don’thatethe idea of you moving in.”
“You…”
It’s not a full sentence; it’s barely even a thought because she what?!
“I mean you can live with him, or we can pretend you’re living with him if that makes you feel better.”
“I’m sorry; it sounds like you think I should move in with you.”
