“Good little empress.” He scoops up another handful and repeats the action, encouraging me to swallow another mouthful.
With each taste of his essence, each swallow, the achiness in my core builds. He continues until he’s unable to scoop any more seed from my upper thighs and stomach.
He moves his hand between my legs, immediately seeking out my clit. His eyes gleam with knowing, and my heart stutters.
He’s aware that I’m becoming excited all over again. He knows just how badly I need another climax.
As he leans close and nibbles my ear, I detect the scent of my arousal on his breath. His nearness prompts goosebumps to rise on my flesh, and as he strokes my clit faster, I grab onto his muscled arm.
The release hits me hard, and I gasp through it as I tighten my hold on him, enjoying the feel of his teeth grazing my ear as he expertly strums me to completion.
When he straightens and our eyes meet, my arms start tingling. It’s the same odd sensation I’ve experienced in my dreams, dreams that I’m tempted to ask him about. He’d mentioned that he dreamed about me, and I’m curious about the details of those dreams, though at present, I’m too nervous to ask. Maybe tomorrow. Or the next day.
“Get cleaned up and get some sleep,” he says. “I’ll order Closta to change the bedcovers while you’re in the bathroom.” He pauses and suddenly glances at his upper arms, at the ancestral markings that glow purple. When his gaze finally returns to me, he appears taken aback. “I will likely be gone when you awake, but the kitchen is stocked with fresh food, and there’s a food replicator as well. Promise me you’ll eat something.”
“I promise.”
“Good little empress.”
Chapter21
RADAKK
I watchSecurity Officer Paddax as he sleeps in the medical bay. Dark angry splotches cover his face and arms, and while the rest of his body is covered by a sheet, I know those marks cover his entire form. Thankfully, his recovery is going well, and the physicians are still confident he’ll make a complete recovery.
Doctor Lorzz approaches and inclines his head. “Emperor.”
“Have the newly developed vaccines been administered to everyone who came in contact with Paddax yesterday?” I’m still stunned by the physicians’ report I’d read this morning, stunned to learn Sheila’s hypospray had contained a fast-acting virus, a virus that would’ve likely killed nearly every soul aboard theHaxxalin a matter of weeks. Thank the Star Gods for our top doctors and scientists and their rapid development of the life-saving vaccine.
“Yes,” the doctor says with another deep nod. “Thus far, all the security officers and medical staff who helped Paddax in the aftermath of the attack are doing well. The vaccine worked and no one else has gotten sick.”
“I am glad to hear it.” I clear my throat and glance around the medical bay. “Is Doctor Zahhn here?”
“Yes, he’s in his office.”
“Very good. Excuse me. I have another question for him abouthialla,” I say with a forced smile.Hiallais an ancient Darrvason card game, one I have absolutely no interest in, but it’s my usual excuse to explain my frequent visits to Doctor Zahhn, as he’s known to play the game in his spare time. Even though it’s well known thatforlonggsaruns in my family, the last thing I want is to raise suspicions about my health. I have no desire to cause my people to worry the illness has stricken me years sooner than might be expected.
I glance at Paddax one last time and head for the back of the medical bay, where I’m certain I’ll find Doctor Zahhn working in his laboratory. He’s one of our brightest minds and only yesterday spearheaded the rapid development of the vaccine. He’s also working on a cure forforlonggsa.
I venture past patient rooms, labs, and storage rooms until I reach his personal laboratory at the end of a long corridor. I draw in a deep breath and knock on the door. It opens a moment later, and Doctor Zahhn ushers me inside.
“Emperor, please come in and take a seat. I was just thinking about you.” He gestures for me to sit on one of the many benches that line the worktables.
I sit down and my gaze wanders around the large space. There are hundreds of screens displaying various experiments-in-progress, test tubes, small flat covered dishes with splotches in various colors, and instruments I have no name for scattered throughout. The place appears disordered, but I know from experience that the doctor has a place for everything and is more organized than he appears.
“It’s been over a moon cycle since I last visited you, Doctor Zahhn,” I say by way of greeting. “I thought I would visit and personally thank you for your help with the quick development of the vaccine. Once again, the Darrvason Empire is in your debt.” I’m here for other reasons and we both know it, but as the emperor, it’s my duty to personally thank and recognize individuals whose service is invaluable to the empire.
The doctor waves a hand in a dismissive manner. “It was my pleasure. Gave me a nice distraction. Didn’t even take up half my day.” He chuckles. “The humans who created that virus made several errors that made it easy to combat. Idiots.”
I bite back a smile. “Nevertheless, your service is much appreciated. When we finally settle on a planet, your house will be among the first that will be built.”
The doctor leans against a table and crosses his arms, his manner casual and relaxed. He’s one of the few males who doesn’t behave overly formal in my presence. “I expect a grand house,” he says with an arrogant grin. “Perhaps not as grand as whatever palace you intend to build for yourself, but a large house in an elevated location, if that is possible, with a majestic view of the landscape.”
“What about a mate?” I ask. “You declined a female from the first wave of women, but the second wave will likely be delivered in a few moon cycles. Would you like a female of your own?”
His expression falters. “As you know, Emperor, I am sterile. A result of the Haflassan Flu I had as a young male. I would not be able to procreate. A female would be wasted on me.”
“You have saved our people many times over, Zahhn,” I say, purposely omitting his title. A sign that I consider him a friend, though if we were in public and I addressed him without his title, it would be considered rude and confrontational. But there’s no one else around, and I do consider him a friend. I also believe he deserves a mate, never mind that he wouldn’t be able to impregnate a woman.
