Culloden walked over, holding Daracha close, “I will take McGavin’s life. He tried ta touch my lassie andno onetouches wha’ is mine.”

Callum nodded, “Aye. So, it shall be done then.”

He pulled Islay into his arms, “Ye arena leavin’ my side now. I care no’ for others stupid opinions.”

She nodded, “We still have an hour until the dawn.”

Callum doubted he would sleep, now that he knew he had dangerous men in his keep.

He took Islay back to his room, and she shook her head, “Ta my chambers. I need ta dress. We will sleep later. I wish ta marry ye still and I willna let those men ruin my wedding.”

He nodded, “Yer wish is my command, my lady.”

He helped her to her rooms, and watched as she dressed in a heavier gown than what she normally wore.

It had flowers and leaves embroidered on it, and she looked beautiful.

“We need ta wake the keep. Those men canna hide if your men are searching.”

Islay nodded, "I want those men gone. They tried ta ruin our wedding and I willna have it."

Callum grinned at her, "Tha's my lassie. We are gettin' married today."

He held his arm out, and she looped her arm through his.

They walked down to the great hall, and Callum’s allies were there, their arms crossed, and their faces lined with anger.

"What is the meanin' of this Callum?"

Callum held his hand up, "This nigh' someone took my lass from her bed,”

Malcolm sucked in his breath and Tague growled, and Callum lifted a brow, “She was able ta escape thanks ta her knowledge of healing and plants of the forest.”

He looked over at her, then back to his allies, and the men gathered in the great hall.

“However, her disappearance was just a distration. She was stolen for a purpose. Once we kenned wha’ tha’ purpose was, we rushed back here ta find a snake tryin’ ta hurt her sister.”

Culloden brought the McGavin Laird forward, his head slumped, blood still dripping from his nose.

A gasp sounded from the people in the hall, and Culloden forced McGavin to his knees, and then a commotion was heard as Egan pushed his way through the crowd of people, pulling a squirming man behind him, one that was cursing, yelling and making a nuisance of himself until Egan turned, using the back of his hand to slap the man across the face.

Callum stepped forward, then he stilled as he saw just who Egan was dragging forward.

Angus. The man who started it all.

Callum glared at Angus, who was shoved to his knees in front of him, next to the McGavin.

Callum looked down at Angus, “Where was he?”

“Tryin’ ta free Gemma and Talitha. He brought a few men with him, but after a few fought back, some died and the others are locked up in the dungeon.”

Callum nodded, “Angus. I canna believe ye would try ta have me unseated. Was yer life here tha’ hard? Did ye have ta do tae much for me? Ye lived in luxury and all ye had ta do was meet with my allies. Yet, yet betrayed me. Ye betrayed my brother, yer people. Ye thought ye could get away with it, but ye were found out. Do ye wish ta ken how ye were found?”

Angus glared up at him, and Callum said, “Yer daughter gave ye away. Spoutin’ her nonsense about being the lady of the keep. How she was supposed ta be with the laird. Even if it werena me. I ken ye have hated me since we were children and have helped ta spread the rumors tha’ I’m the Crippled, Scarred Laird. I let it go. But ye went tae far. Ye told McGavin just how ta get inta our keep. Didna ye?”

Angus swallowed hard as Callum’s voice grew harder with each word.

He just nodded, “I didna want ta be laird, I just was tired of always being nothin’. Ye and Culloden run this keep and were trained as warriors. I was always nothin’.”
