“I’m goin’ ta steal my wife Lainey. I think Egan wished ta speak with ye.”

Callum pulled Islay away to their chambers and set her on the bed, “Wha’ is goin’ on?”

“I gave the keep ta Egan. I asked the king and he agreed with my choice.”

Islay gasped, “Ye did?”

He nodded, “We are needed at home.”

She smiled, “I do love it there. But will the people be all right here?”

Callum nodded, “With the men who have chosen to stay and Egan ta care for them? Aye.”

“I did teach Lainey all I kenned about healing.”

He grinned, “I ken lass. I love ye.”

He leaned down and kissed her, pushing her back on the bed, and kissing down her neck to her stomach, where their babe grew.

“Ye are the most perfect woman I have ever kenned.”

He lifted up, kissing her again and slowly undressing her, then himself.

He made love to her slowly, softly and then pulled her in his arms.

“We are goin’ home.”

They told the people of the clan that night about Egan becoming the laird, and everyone was thrilled, just like Callum knew they would be.

Egan kept Duncan on as the Steward and told the people that he wanted Lainey as their lady.

Once again, they were thrilled for them. And Callum was grateful they had easily accepted all the new changes.

He knew he would be leaving them in good hands.

A FORTNIGHT LATER

They rode into the bailey of their keep and were welcomed with open arms.

His people had heard of his hard work with the forgotten clan, and he was more accepted than ever.

He never imagined life would be this amazing.

He looked at his wife, the woman who had changed everything for him.

She had come into his life, unafraid of the rumors or him.

She had given him the world when she agreed to be his, and now his people accepted and loved him.

She was having his bairn, and one day their bairn would take over in his stead.

Callum had made his second in command the head of the army and he looked around his home, so happy.

He knew life wouldn’t have been like this had Islay not come into his life and he would always give her the credit.

His woman, his wife, his everything.
