He nodded, and then took a deep breath, “Hopefully Fraser, Lachlan and James will be able ta figure out his cipher.”
She smiled and then went still as they walked out onto a huge field filled with warriors of all ages, shapes, and sizes going through drills.
Egan was on the back of a horse, shouting out instructions and when he saw Callum had the men immediately come to a stop.
Islay watched in awe as all the men put their right hand over their chest in a fist and gave Callum a slight bow.
Egan rode up to them, “They are ready. I have a seat ready for the lady.”
Callum nodded, showing Islay to a small seat that was shaded from the sun.
She sat down on it, and Callum leaned into give her a quick kiss before he walked toward his men.
“We are goin’ ta show the lassie wha’ we can do.”
The men nodded, and Callum went to work with his men, going through specific exercises to get their bodies warmed up.
It was chilly outside, with snow still on the ground, but with a warm cloak wrapped around her shoulders, she was warm.
For the next few hours, she kept her eye on Callum as he worked with his men.
He stripped out of his tunic, and was only wearing his trews, and his boots.
His body was shiny with sweat, and she squirmed in her seat remembering just how his body fit hers like she was the hand, and he was a glove.
Or maybe she was the glove, since his cock fit so perfectly inside her.
She swallowed hard, wanting to take her mind off of the night before, but seeing Callum in his sweaty, beautiful male glory? It was hard.
Literally.
She let out a small groan and Egan looked over at her, “Are ye all right my lady?”
She nodded, “Aye. Thank ye.”
He looked back out at the field, “Callum is goin’ ta show the new men his sword skills now.”
She watched as Callum pulled his sword free from his belt, and swing it around a few times, holding the sword in a sure grip.
One of the new recruits walked up to him and Islay noted it was a boy. Not a man.
He looked to be about sixteen. If that.
Callum was patient as he showed the boy a few moves with his sword, how to hold it in the proper grip and then how to swing, how to block and how to do a few more things.
She watched in awe as a few of the other boys around Callum started to mimic him with his stance, his hold, his swings.
She knew then that Callum was a good teacher. That his men respected him, loved him.
Her breath caught in her throat at that. He thought that people didn’t respect him. And maybe those that lived in the castle or those that resided in the village may not, but these men out here? They saw a Laird that worked by their side.
That took the time to show them how to properly hold their sword, how to fight with a sword that was almost the same length as their bodies.
By the time Callum had shown the boys a few more moves, she could see the confidence grow in the young lads.
One was even smiling as he knocked the sword out of his opponent's hand.
She bit her lip, and Callum nodded at Egan, who swung out of the horse, and walked over, drawing his sword.
