Giselle Fay was usually quiet during these meetings. A requirement of the women in this family, or old families like this one. You are to be seen and not heard. Like a beautiful little fool. It was the best thing a girl could be in this world.

Daisy ignored her mother.

Luis leaned forward. “We expect news soon. Don’t think I won’t have the act watched if needed.”

Of course he’d threaten to have someone watch her have sex with her husband. Anything to insure the family line continued, especially since she was an only child. In a regular family, he would’ve been happy enough with a daughter and passed her the family business.

She wasn’t part of a regular family though. They would tell her it was her duty and honor, but she couldn’t do it. She didn’t know how, but she needed to find a new way to keep it from happening.

CHAPTER FOURTEEN

JAY

Four long days that grew darker than the one before had passed before he’d heard from Daisy. He was miserable, and it seemed to rub off on everyone around him. In those moments, he preferred to talk to himself to keep from snapping at the wrong person.

Until a job came and he took it a little too far. To be fair, the guy shouldn’t have smarted off. If he would’ve given the information they needed, his death would’ve come faster. It was the stranger’s fault he was in pain for hours before he left this world.

That morning, Nick called and told him he’d gotten a promotion. He asked if Jay would host a party for him. An excuse to get Daisy out of the house. It wasn’t until later that afternoon when the two of them were alone that Nick told him exactly what happened. Daisy’s family was becoming more of a nuisance.

Jay was sure there was more to the story; there were pieces he hadn’t put together yet. Nick had assured him that she would be there but her husband would be tagging along. Both families were watching them close right now.

He didn’t want that man in his house, not that he’d admit it to anyone. The Buchanan family was influential and he couldn’t burn bridges. Not yet. Then Jordan interrupted their phone call. She’d pulled the phone from Nick’s hands and gave Jay the best idea.

Throw the party at the club. He was one of the owners, he could do that. For the safety of the members, nobody else would be allowed in without being vetted first. It was the perfect plan. Nick didn’t initially want to be a member, but Jay told him not to worry about it. It’d be taken care of.

Jay expedited the process and paid Nick’s dues. Fuck, he’d been so grateful, he paid Jordan’s for the next year. That sneaky girl knew how long Jay had wanted to get Daisy in the club. In a matter of hours, it was all happening.

* * *

Jay had steppedinto Club Oxy more times than he could count since it first opened. He was hands-on in the beginning, wanting to make sure its design was perfect. Some jokingly referred to him as controlling, but they had no idea.

Everything he did was for her and the moment he was able to bring her here, in this safe space, was everything. Imagining her here and seeing it, was like seeing color for the first time. The colors were richer. The lighting was perfect. Her eyes sparkled as she glanced around the room and took it all in.

It didn’t take much convincing to get her to go with him since they said it was a party for Nick. It wasn’t until the pair of them were alone that she fought the idea a little. She didn’t know he knew what was really going on. Her family was buckling down. He’d seen the cut on her arm, memorized the mark.

That mark was going to be burned into him until he had the chance to give that mark to a few members of her so-called family. Nick had given him the names because he was a good friend. One of the few he could trust.

After his last outing with Daisy, he’d proven to her that he could keep their identities hidden. The club was a different environment entirely. Not a soul needed to hide because nobody spoke about what went on there. Strict rules were in place for the safety and protection of every member. He’d given her the option to wear a mask, but promised she’d be okay without one.

Daisy trusted him enough to not wear a mask. Then she accepted the outfit he had laid out for her, after a little convincing. She’d try to talk her way out of it until he smiled. Her eyes grew as she thought over if she really wanted punishment. His girl loved a little pain with pleasure, but he didn’t take it easy on her. He never fucking would.

Then she turned and held her hair up for him to buckle the blue collar in place before he stripped her down and dressed her how he wanted her. She was bratty most of the time, but he was happy to see there was still a small part of her that was happy to submit without a fight. He knew it took a lot for her to wear whatever he picked out, considering that was something she’d grown up with. His girl wanted control, but she also knew she had the most when she was with him.

One word and everything stopped.

She leaned into his embrace as her eyes flickered across the room, taking it all in. Her arm was looped around his. As they walked further into the building, her arm slid down until her hand was next to his. She laced their fingers together and then grabbed his arm with her other hand. Keeping close but eyes wide as she continued to look around.

“It’s beautiful, Jay.” Her voice was low.

He placed a kiss on her forehead. His arm raised as he pointed out various areas of the club. The stage in the center of the main room, the balconies, the private rooms. Two bars that were synced to one another. Open bar but a limit per member so nobody would be intoxicated and agree to something they normally wouldn’t.

At some point during the tour, they’d separated from Nick and Jordan. He knew they would be fine, Jordan was a member and probably giving her own tour for Nick. It meant he could focus all of his attention on Daisy, which is where he wanted it.

Two slightly curved staircases on opposite sides of the main room were lit with neon green lights to light the path to the balconies. The ones toward the front were brighter and led the path to the rooms that could be reserved by members to have a better line of sight on the center stage. The staircase on the back, was where he led her. Dimmer green lights up to the offices and private balconies of the few owners.

At the top of the steps, he introduced her to the head of security who was sitting in the security office. Tyler preferred to keep to the office so he could have eyes on the screens for the cameras. Jay then led her down the hall and pointed out the various offices that belonged to the other owners, each with their own private balcony.

The other owners preferred to be on the main floor, only occasionally would one find them watching from their private balcony. Jay preferred it up high, watching from a distance. As much as he wanted to spend more time with Daisy on the main floor, he wanted to watch her take in all in from up here first.
