I leave out the front door, walking down our long driveway, then turning right on the road, and walking the short distance until I arrive to the long driveway at the Jameses’ property. When I reach the front door, Wyatt already has it opened. He’s wearing a white T-shirt and a pair of blue jeans that sit low on his waist. He looks delicious.

I smile. “Hi.”

“Hi, yourself,” he replies with a mischievous smirk. “Did you sleep good?”

I nod. “I felt quite relaxed.” Who am I? I didn’t even know I knew how to flirt. Yet with Wyatt it’s natural.

“I bet.” He grins. “Come in and make yourself comfortable.”

I take off my boots and Wyatt takes my jacket and hangs it on a hook.

I look around. The place is outdated but has a cozy feel.

“Nice place,” I say to him.

“It used to be my Grams’s,” he says.

“I know. I remember her,” I say.

He smiles and licks his lips. He moves into me. “I’ve been thinking about kissing you since last night.”

“I’ve been thinking about that too,” I admit, and so much more.

He moves in, wrapping his arms around my waist and bringing me close to his body. My arms come up and rest on his strong shoulders.

“You must really work out a lot,” I mutter because I am not smooth like him.

“Part of playing on a Division1team. They are constantly working us,” he explains.

Then he dips his head, and his warm lips brush mine. Sparks erupt inside me from the small touch. When he presses his lips harder and slips his tongue in my mouth, my hands move from his shoulders to wrap around his neck as we deepen the kiss. I moan into his mouth.

“Should we take this to the bedroom?” he asks.

I nod and swallow. I’m already wet for him. I’ve never met anyone who has caused this kind of reaction in my body. I didn’t even know that kissing could get you so wet.

Wyatt takes me by the hand and guides me to a room on the main floor. When we get inside, he closes the door and then he is walking toward me again. His lips crash to mine with a fervor I feel the need to match because my body feels on fire. I’ve never felt this kind of heat or want before. It’s maddening. He walksme backward until the backs of my knees hit the bed, and then he breaks the kiss and lifts me in his arms in one fell swoop.

I squeal and he lays me on the bed.

“You’re very strong,” I say to him.

He moves a stray piece of hair off my face. “You’re very beautiful.”

I pull away slightly and his brows furrow.

“What?” he asks. “Did I say something wrong?”

“I’ve never been told I was beautiful before. You don’t have to say it. I’m here. I want this.”

He is hovering above me and then moves to my side. He places his hand under his head for support. “I said it because I meant it.”

I squeeze my eyes shut. I’m screwing this up because I don’t know what the hell I am doing. What I am feeling is too much.

“I’m sorry. I don’t know why I said that,” I reply with a fake smile.

“I like honest, Willa. Last night you were very real,” he says. It isn’t a lie. I said things that I probably never would’ve shared with a stranger.

“You want real, Wyatt. I can give you real. I don’t know what you saw in me last night. I was a little drunk and in a mood. Today, this is the real me with no booze to boost my bravery. I’ve never had a boyfriend. I never so much as kissed a boy before last night. So, yeah, if you are doing the math right now, then you’ve guessed it. I’m an unexperienced virgin.”
