“Tell me all about him,” he says excitedly, wiggling in his seat. “What’s he like?”
“He’s amazing. Perfect. I…” I trail off as I scratch the back of my neck, a little flustered, but in a good way. “He’s the one.”
“Fuck, I’m jealous,” he scoffs, but with no ill will. There’s almost a sadness in his eyes, buried under his happiness for me, but something dark and somber, nonetheless. “I want my one.”
I reach over and rub his wrist, giving him a bittersweet smile. “You’ll get there.”
He lets out a deep breath and then does what he does best. He sweeps that shit under the rug, locking down his own emotions as his expression transforms into one of enthusiasm. “When do I get to meet him?”
I gulp. I’ve been keeping it cool for Everest’s sake, but I truly don’t know how Elton is going to react. I want to think he’ll be happy for us, but I can’t be too sure. He and I have bonded in away that’s closer than regular bros. We’re brothers. I don’t feel guilty that I love his little brother, but I do feel like a bit of an ass because I may have potentially crossed a line.
Still, I keep that smile on my face. “Soon. I promise.”
“Okay, I’ll let it go for now.” Although he looks nowhere near ready to do that, he manages to rein himself in. Our server comes up to us, but he waves her away politely before turning to me again. “Hey, I’m happy for you, man. Love you.”
“Love you too,” I whisper, the words not as easy to get out as they normally are.
“And thanks again.”
“For?”
“For looking out for my little brother.” He leans forward and claps me on my shoulder. “I knew I could trust you with him.”
There’s a lead weight in my gut as I nod and let out a half-hearted chuckle. “Yeah. No problem.”
CHAPTER FORTY
Everest
I’ve been spendingway too much time in my room.
I’m scrolling through my phone, not really looking at anything in particular. I could go out into the living room just for a change of scenery, but that would mean running into either Elton, Rhys, or both. Each option I’m avoiding for obvious reasons. Elton because I don’t think I can keep the guilt written off my face, and Rhys because I don’t think I could prevent myself from jumping him. So, even though I’m bored, I keep just scrolling through all the mindless ads on this one app until I reach some actual content.
The knock on my door is soft and subtle. I sit up to answer, but it’s already being pushed open until Rhys’s head pops up from behind it.
It’s ridiculous how quickly I’m on my feet, standing at the edge of my bed like a love-struck fool as he comes in. “Hi.”
“Hi.”
He smiles, checking over his shoulder once before stepping in and closing the door behind him. The click of the lock is muted as I take in just how good he looks. He must have just showered because he’s all misty and fresh, his glasses a bit fogged, and his hair wet under his hat.
“I’ve missed you,” I blurt out, chewing on my bottom lip as he takes a step closer.
He chuckles. “We see each other every day.”
“That’s not what I mean.”
I missbeingwith him. It’s not just the sex, even though I do miss the fuck out of that. It’s being able to spend time with him, whether we’re lying in bed together watching television or sitting side by side as we eat breakfast. I miss the little touches, the way he looks at me like there’s nothing else, and the comfort we’ve found with each other.
“I know,” he whispers. His soft brown eyes show that, once again, he can read me better than anyone has before. “I miss you too, baby.”
Once he reaches me, he cups my face in his hands and brings our lips together. His tongue sweeping against the seam of my mouth has me opening to him. My arms automatically wrap around his neck to pull him closer as his hands migrate down my body to the seam of my shorts.
“Mmm,” I mumble, a little hazy with pleasure when he starts massaging my cock. “What are you doing?”
“Told you I missed you,” he rasps, finishing me out of my shorts, giving me long purposeful strokes that cause my dick to harden embarrassingly quickly. “Fuck, Ev. I need you.”
I throw my head back and my eyes flutter shut as he presses kisses up my neck until he’s nibbling on my ear. “Is Elton home?”
