“You fucked all five of them?” Stephanie asked.
I gave her a sheepish smile. “One way or another.”
“He was fabulous,” Adriana said. “Jumped from one asshole to the next.”
“Sounds kind of gross when you put it like that,” I said.
“You enjoyed every minute of it, Deacon.” Adriana winked at Stephanie.
“You’ve had quite the run over the past several days.” Stephanie placed her hand on my shoulder and started to say something else.
The door leading from the tunnel opened.
Suzanne appeared with the two children.
And moments later, guns in hand, Veronica appeared with the guard from the boat who had killed Chrissy.
“I know you’re out there, Deacon. Bring your ass over here.”
“Don’t,” Stephanie whispered.
“I don’t really have a choice,” I said. “I’m leaving with my family, or I’m going to die trying.” I stepped from the woods, and Veronica immediately took aim.
