I straddled Sam’s lap and rested my arms on his shoulders. “The four of you asked me to stay with you. Does the offer still stand?”
“We know where you were.” Sam lifted my skirt, finding no panties.
“Boys,” I said and heard chairs scooting across the floor.
Flux, Mani, and Rogue stood around us. Sam left his eyes on me.
“You didn’t do what I asked,” Sam said.
“No, I did something better. I want to talk to you and Alexander together. All seven of you.”
“You think because we invited you to stay with us that you have some kind of control. That’s not the way this is going to work.”
“I’m afraid that’s exactly how this is going to work.”
Sam watched the three men around us. His eyes suggested he knew he was no longer the alpha. “You stumble into our lives and think you can just take over?”
The front door opened. Alexander, Anthony, and Prague walked in.”
“You own the land?” Alexander said and dropped the papers in front of me.
“What?” Sam grabbed the papers and read in disbelief. “Who the fuck are you?”
“Alexander, are you still in?” I asked.
“I am, but I have the same question as Sam. Who the fuck are you?”
I moved away from the seven men and stood by the plastic-covered window. When I shifted into a panther, the seven men moved back.
“Holy shit!” Prague said. He was the only man to approach me.
I sat back on my haunches and watched Prague. I purred when he rubbed my head.
“Damn, she’s soft.”
“She’s a fucking shifter,” Sam said in disbelief. “I sniffed her a dozen times and couldn’t tell.”
“The gypsy woman.” Alexander called Prague back, and then he approached. “Who are you, really?”
When I shifted, I was naked.
“Nice,” Mani said, wearing a huge grin. “Whatever you want, I’m in.”
I shot Mani a smile, knowing only Alexander and Sam had to be won over.
“How’d you become a shifter?” Alexander asked. Sam took a seat, dumbfounded that he had missed the obvious, blinded by his greed.
“Ever since you killed my grandmother, Sam, I’ve sought revenge. But that revenge has been caught up in a promise I made your father.”
“You knew our father?” Sam shook his head, disbelief consuming him. He fidgeted in his seat. I couldn’t help but love every minute of it.
“I didn’t know him until you murdered my grandmother. When that happened, he came to me and apologized. Not believing his apology was enough, he created an addendum to the land trust he gave you and Alexander. I’ve kept those papers all these years.” I grabbed my bag and removed a copy of the addendum, and handed one each to Alexander and Sam.
“So you’re here to claim your land. Steal it from us.” For a moment, I thought Sam might charge at me.
“You mean the way you tried to steal it from Alexander?”
Sam scoffed. “He tried to steal it from me as well, remember?”
