Her breath goes heavy.Water.
From a river?I want to know.
No, smaller. There is wood surrounding me.
That’s the building. It’s made out of wood. Great, Annalise, you are doing fantastic. What else?
There is wind. Louder than usual.
“She says it’s windy.”
“Then it can’t be the forest,” Dante says. “She wouldn’t hear the wind that strongly otherwise.”
Salty. It smells like salt. She continues. And there are roses. Roses. And…she pauses, mint oil, it’s strong, to diffuse their wolf scent.
I nod.You are doing so well, my dear.
I can smell roses,she repeats.
Inside me, I can feel Fenris stir. He is preparing himself to attack. A cliff with a wooden cottage. Probably small on the outside but with a basement and a rose garden. The sun is still shining, so it’s to the west. She literally gave me a description of the whole area. They can’t be far. There was not enough time to pull that whole stunt, hide her away and drive for hours.
I have the strongest mate ever!
Liam, I heard Lauren’s voice too.
I growl. “Call Celine,” I huff towards Dante. “It’s Lauren.”
Her breath hitches a bit.Liam, I’m so tired.
Hang in there, my love. I’m on my way!
I swiftly tell the others what I found out and command Dante to use all the information to track the place. He is one of the best strategists in the pack. It’s one of his gifts to make very fast connections and geographical profiles. Meanwhile, my father and I make sure to gather a group of warriors to come with us.
Before long, Dante reports that he has found the location.
“Finn,” Dad commands. “You will stay behind. My Betas will be with me, and I need you to represent me while I’m gone.”
Finn nods, a hint of pride flashing in his eyes. “I won’t disappoint you,” he promises. “Just one thing…”
“What?” I ask.
“These men abducted our future Luna. I admit that the whole abduction was done really well. The humans were professionals, clearly. But the wolves behind this? They suck at this. I mean, they brought Annie to a place close to the pack. It was incredibly easy to find it. If Annie hadn’t mind-linked Liam, our trackers would still have found the place within a few hours… just because they would have run past it during their search,” he pauses. “Am I the only one who thinks this is the shittiest plan ever?”
“No,” I huff. “I think the same. Either it’s a trap, or someone has just lost their mind to their own stupidity.”
“I hope it’s a trap,” Dad points out. “We can easily deal with a trap. A crazy, dumb opponent however, will be more of a threat to deal with.”

Chapter 33 An Omega’s Fight
*ANNALISE*
I’mtootiredtocommunicate with Liam further, but he keeps the mind link open. I hear him talking to me, and it makes me feel calmer. He tells me what they are doing, where they are searching, and that they are getting closer. It raises my spirits and pushes me to fight to stay awake.
Let’s see what else I can do.
I tug on my ties. The silver doesn’t hurt me, but the ties are strong, or rather the material is. My bones are not strong enough for them. I feel something crunching and twisting, but I don’t mind. The adrenaline rush allows me to push further.
