Goddess, this man is both crazy and delusional! Who does he think he is? It seems that Jace and Elden are both rendered speechless, unable to quite fathom what kind of nonsense the dude is spouting.
“Their wives are mine! I can do with them as I please! They should be thankful for my attention. Pathetic, weak pack,” he sneers. “I’m their Alpha! They belong to me! They-”
“Shut up,” Liam yells, his voice full of anger now, his eyes dark.
Elden looks at all of us thoughtfully. Then he nods toward Liam and me. “He is yours,” he says simply. “Do what you came here for.”
“I’m Alpha-” Marcus starts again.
“You call yourself an Alpha?” I interrupt him. “You are not strong enough to be called the king of your pack. You are not wise enough to be looked up to. You have no one’s interest in mind other than yourself. You are a narcissistic weakling, who can only suppress others by doing something so shameful as to threaten and kill their families. You call yourself strong? You sent everyone into this fight while hiding like the coward you are. You are nothing but a bully. You are pathetic.”
He tries to glare at me, to use his alpha status on me. But it doesn’t work. I take the silver chains in my hands, noting with satisfaction how his eyes widen at realizing that they can’t hurt me. I pull them tighter around his body. His scream is like music to my ears. He gets down on his knees.
“What is Red Claw’s verdict?” Liam asks, his voice is dark and full of venom.
The men and women in front of us are bursting with emotions. They have full-on hatred and wrath for the man who tormented them, grieving for those they lost and absolutely broken for those hurt by him. But they are also still terrified.
I turn to my friend. “Ella,” I say.
She nods and steps forward. “It’s time for you to speak up now and show your strength,” she says urgently. “Look around you. This place is packed with wolves who came to your aid, several packs who showed you their support. Now is your opportunity to finally have justice served.”
It’s deadly silent for a moment, then it begins…
“Kill him, my Lord Liam!” a young wolf says; he looks stronger than some of the others. Must be one of the warriors who stuck with the pack instead of following his Alpha. “He killed my father!”
“Yes!” the others agree.
I notice how Liam tries to rein Fenris back in order to remain calm towards the pack. “One after another,” he orders.
Some men raise their hands, and Liam lets them all speak. Once one of them starts, more and more want to say something, and soon the younger and weaker pack members join too, as do the she-wolves.
From all sides, accusations rain down on us, new truths.
“He raped my sister.”
“He sent his entourage to the orphanage to hit and bully the kids,” an old woman says with tears in her eyes.
“He had his sleazy hands on my daughter.” A lot of men and women repeat this statement, much to my horror and sadness.
“My son was in a coma for weeks because of him.”
“Please free us from him.”
“We will follow your orders from now on.”
“Lady Annalise,” one of the young girls, a miserable-looking Omega, cries out. “Please save us.”
A young redhead shyly speaks up next. “It’s said you are an Omega too, Lady Annalise. We… we have no rights here. He marked one of my friends against her will.”
“She is right,” one of the warriors backs her up. “He and his men even marked underaged girls.”
I can see Elden’s eyes widen at this claim. He balls his hands into fists but stays silent.
“We don’t want him to stay here anymore. Please set us free!”
“We will agree with your conditions, Alpha Liam!”
“Lady Annalise!”
