A joke? They almost abducted me, and tried to assault me!

Liam and Celine seem to think the same, because they growl at him in unison, while Dante just throws an annoyed glance at him. Now that I have had time to grasp the situation, I’m also starting to make the connections. These were the guys taking the photos and sending me the texts. I shake my head. Liam is right. This is beyond just a joke or a simple prank.

“Why did you do that!?” Celine growls at the slightly older guy. “You are older than them. It was your job to set a good example.”

He glances at me. “On second glance, she is kinda cute.”

Before anyone else can speak, Liam is in front of him. Suddenly, he punches him hard enough for him to be knocked down several feet. So hard, I can hear some of his bones break. The dude stays quiet now and doesn't move; it seems like Liam knocked him unconscious.

“Glad you broke something this time,” Dante mutters.

Liam nods grimly. “So, who did you send the photos to? Who was the person who hired you to do that?” He asks the other guys.

“We don’t know, we swear, we just send them to an anonymous number.”

Dante sighs. “Alpha Liam, I don’t think we are going to get them to answer. Alpha Cedric and Alpha Celine will need to deal with it.”

Liam nods, but I can see that he isn’t happy with the outcome.

With the Moon Blood pack warriors now dealing with everything, I can slowly feel the tension leaving me. Alpha Cedric is a strong and fair leader, and I’m sure their punishment will be just. I’m also relieved that Liam didn’t intervene in their pack politics. His Beta Dante is right. It’s their job to handle everything first, especially if it concerns underage pack members. If Liam thinks they didn’t do enough, he can still intervene.

It suddenly strikes me that I’m thinking aboutthemandtheir. With my connection to Liam growing, it also seems like I’m losing the link to my own pack.

Celine approaches me and pulls me out of my trail of thought. She looks sad and guilty. “I am so sorry, Annie. I… this shouldn’t have happened. I will deal with it, I promise.”

“No, this wasn’t your fault,” I say quietly. “None of us was expecting a bunch of teens to get out of control like that.” It’s true. I was expecting a stalker or one of Liam’s fangirls to be after me, but never in my wildest dreams would I have thought that a bunch of teenage wolves would be behind it. I don't understand, though... why did they do it? It makes no sense that they were following me around and attacking me.

I am sure someone set them up to do it.

Chapter 19 The truth

*ANNALISE*

CelineandAriarestill discussing a few things. I’m not listening anymore. At one point, I can feel Dante wrapping a blanket around me. “It’s getting cold,” he smiles.

“Thank you,” I smile back. “It’s nice to meet you, by the way.”

“Yes.” His light green eyes look at me warmly. He is a very handsome man, and his warm aura immediately puts me at ease. “Unfortunate that we must meet like this, but at least I’m making a lasting impression on my Alpha’s mate.”

I chuckle. “Same here. This is a meeting to remember.”

With my senses returning and my fear subsiding, I can feel it when Liam turns to look at me. He takes my hand into his.

“How long, Annalise?” He doesn’t show it, but I know by now he has put two and two together and figured out that I have been hiding the stalker from him for a while now. “When did it start?”

I feel tears filling my eyes but fight against them as much as I can. He sighs, reaching out his hand to cup my cheek, his thumb brushing over my cheek.

“All right, tell me what happened and when it started.”

I tell him everything. When it started…the first message, then when I realized that someone was in my room. I don’t leave anything out. I even show him the messages on my phone, noting how his gaze darkens when he sees the pictures. When I’m finished, I feel a bit empty but relieved.

Liam looks shocked, though. “You should have told me,” he tells me bluntly, furrowing his brows.

I nod. “I know. I’m sorry for hiding it from you,” I say quietly. I can clearly see how upset he is that I hid it from him. “I thought it was nothing serious, just a stalker.”

“But it was serious,” Liam emphasizes. “And even if it werejusta stalker, it would clearly be something to worry about!”
