“Okay,” Liam takes a deep breath. “I’m envisioning my parents now. Nothing is more of a lust killer than thinking about your own parents.”

I blink at his words, my thoughts drifting to Mom and Dad and… “Yep, that works,” I say dryly. I crawl over him to jump out of bed, laughing slightly when he smacks my butt. “I noticed you have a thing for my butt, Alpha Liam.”

“That’s another thought you are allowed to keep in mind for later,” he teases.

I laugh lightly once more before making my way to the bathroom. I sway my hips a bit to tease him; it seems to work because he growls slightly. “Your parents, remember?” I grin, laughing a bit as I close the door behind me. I look at my reflection in the mirror above the sink, finally inspecting the mark on my neck. It will look like a tattoo to humans. It’s indeed a crescent moon with a star in it and a bigger moon closing around it. It’s beautiful, and I really need to check on its meaning later on. Normally the marks are only a single crescent moon, but I guess for Liam and me, it’s different because he is a Lycan.

It fills me with pride and joy to carry his mark and how he immediately demanded that I mark him. Not all Alphas are willing to do that, but it seems like Liam wanted to be officially mine just like I’m his.

Two hours later, we drove to Silverlake Pack. I’m wearing one of the dresses I bought during my shopping trip with my friends. It’s a cute, simpler one, not too sexy. A brown summer dress with little flowers on it, knee-length, a slight petticoat. The top part is tight. It's form-fitting around my upper body. The fabric feels light and fresh, but it’s still more on the elegant and sophisticated side. It only shows a bit of my legs.

Liam liked it instantly.

But then he apparently likes me in anything, so he is not a good judge.

“All right, let me repeat,” I shift around nervously. “Your siblings… the twins are the youngest; they are 14. Felix and… Dario was it, right?”

“Yes, they are not identical twins, though.”

“Right. Felix is the California sunny surfer boy type of guy,” I start.

Liam chuckles. “I don’t remember calling him like that, but sure.”

“Dario has dark hair and is smaller. He is rather shy and earnest, right?”

“Yes, he is a bit of an introvert, more so than me. He resembles Finn looks-wise,” Liam explains. “He is a bit small considering he is of Alpha blood, but he is a rather gentle soul.”

“But he tested Alpha?” I ask curiously.

“He is Alpha,” Liam explains. “But really at the bottom of the spectrum. Sometimes I think he would have been happier had he simply tested Beta.”

I nod tentatively. “Aurelia is your sister? Should be easy to make her out amidst the whole bunch.”

Liam smiles. “Then there is Finn. You know him already.”

“And then Marius,” I add. “He is the second oldest after you, and he is the difficult child.”

Liam grins. “Please don't tell him I said that. I don’t want to hear his nagging.”

“You said he is quite tall but lean. And he has long hair.” I pause. “That’s all. You had it so much easier with my family.”

Liam reaches out his hand to squeeze my knee. “Everything will go well, don't worry so much about it.”

“Please reassure me once more… Your father really won’t mind that I’m just a normal werewolf girl, an Omega on top of that?”

“He won’t,” Liam states evenly. “He takes the mating bond very seriously. He is relieved one of his sons finally found his mate. I bet he is marking the date in the calendar and will inquire about grandchildren soon.”

“Stop joking with me,” I chuckle.

“I’m not. My family is very traditional concerning the mate bond. We royal Lycans know how sacred it is. We have a different approach to mates and the bond than normal wolves. Our bond is even deeper.” He smiles. “On top of that, my family is also extremely eccentric,” he continues mercilessly. “My great-aunt won’t be there. Fortunately – she is into alternative medicine and zodiac signs and some occult stuff, so be prepared that next time she will probably chant a few fertility spells and make you eat the testicle of the lamb because apparently it means luck and fertility. Meanwhile, Marius will try to talk back against my father and provoke him, which will piss Dad off – only Mom will stop him from exploding. It’s going to be hilarious.”

I blink at him for a moment, and then I burst out laughing.

Liam is pleased with my reaction and continues feeding me funny details about his family. It's not long before we reach our destination, and Liam parks the car in front of the huge packhouse. I always thought Moon Blood’s packhouse was big, but Silverlake’s beats it by far. It’s very long and modern. It looks expensive without being tasteless or showy – it’s obvious that either the Alpha or the Luna here have a thing for architecture and style.

Liam opens the door of his car for me and helps me down. I’m feeling my nerves more than ever now. The only thing helping me is Liam’s hand against my back.

We make it to the entrance hall, where Finn greets us. I feel instantly relieved to see him. A known face. He leads us further to the private dining room, pointing out how they are all waiting for us.
