“Oh,” Liam raises his brows. “Maybe I could help you with it?”
“And how would you do that?”
“Hm, I could dress up as your professor,” he mutters, his lips wandering over my neck and shoulders. “I can be pretty strict if I want to be. Maybe I’ll send you to detention for being distracted.”
“You’re aware I’m in college, not in high school. There is no way I can get detention.” He ignores me, much to my amusement. “You were distracted.”
“Distracted by my hot teacher?” I grin. “You are going to abuse your power.”
“Absolutely,” he says earnestly. “Once we’re alone, I’ll punish you thoroughly.”
“Wow,” I say dryly. “If I let you do that, I might learn a few fancy things in bed, but I will definitely not pass my exam. I hate to say it, Alpha, but you are no help!”
Liam laughs and pulls me into his arms. Before he can say anything, there is a sharp knock against our door.
It’s me,Ella links me, sounding pissed.
I draw back from Liam. “Come on in!”
Ella storms in, her brows furrowed. When Dante follows her, she shoots him a glare. “What did you do?” Liam asks, eyeing Dante curiously.
“Nothing,” Dante shrugs helplessly. “I just offered to help.”
Ella glares, crossing her arms in front of her body. “Annie, it worked for exactly ten minutes. Then he hugged me and told me how wonderful I am. Like that’s going to help with my history class.”
Dante shrugs.
“Great,” I point at Liam. “Take your Alpha and go for a run or do something else! This is a mate-free zone until 11 PM!”
“Luna,” Ella eyes me happily and hugs me. “That’s why I love you the most. I’ll fetch my books.”
Liam sighs slightly. “I liked my idea better,” he mutters.
I grin. “Keep your idea in mind until next week when I pass my exams. Then you can “help” me with my homework.”
He grins. “Deal.” My promise apparently spurred him on. “Come on, Dante. I’ve new intel on some rogues. I think some of them might have been Red Claw members. Let’s find them and offer to rejoin the pack.”
Dante nods thoughtfully. “What’s that idea of yours that you are willing to leave so eagerly now?”
Liam raises his eyebrows. “I would like to quote an old friend: A gentleman never tells.”
Dante chuckles. “Very funny.” He sighs. “But I admit defeat.” He pauses. “Say, Liam, did you think about Emerson and Daisy?”
I perk up in interest. “What about them?”
“I would like to invite them to join Red Claw,” Liam explains. “Emerson is a close friend of mine, Aryanna and Dante. I think Daisy would like to start over somewhere else anyway. And they have adopted Emily by now. I think a change of scenery would do them wonders.”
I beam. “That’s wonderful!”
“Yes, I have to talk about it with my father, though,” Liam sighs. “I might be his son, but I can’t just steal pack members from him.”
“Didn’t he say he wants to support us by allowing some members of Silverlake to join us?” I ask.
He nods. “Exactly. Now that we have settled in, it’s time to discuss this idea further with him. I think I’ll head there tomorrow afternoon to discuss some things with Dad. There is also the ceremony to plan.”
Dante and Ari joined the pack right after we took over. We did it without a ceremony because there was no need for one and no time. But for the members of Crescent Moon and for those from Silverlake who would like to join us, Liam wants to do it properly. And I agree with him. “We could combine it with our inauguration ceremony,” I point out. “Everyone is here already. Why do two celebrations if we can hold one big one? It might draw us all together even more. And there’s still a bit of time left to discuss everything with Flora and Elden.”
“I like that idea,” Liam muses.
