“Invested,” Liam finishes. “Keep it casual, and make sure he knows!”
“Dave is a human. He doesn’t know how deep the mate bond will hit,” Aryanna adds.
“He does know,” Ella interrupts them. “Dave knows a lot more than you guys think he does. But there is a difference between knowing and experiencing it first-hand.”
“The good thing is you can be honest with him. You don’t need to hide who you are,” I point out. “Just be careful not to hurt him… or yourself..”
Dave’s only dated casually so far, whereas Jun strikes me as the more serious guy. Well… we’ll see how this goes. I’m sure the goddess has a plan for all of us, and in a way, I feel like she involves Dave in her plan too.
Jun nods tentatively. “I’ll keep your words in mind, thank you.”
After breakfast, there is not much time left to do a lot of things. Liam and I handle a few pack issues and prepare for our meeting with his parents. We drop by Silverlake to pick up his parents at 6 PM. Liam booked us a private room in a fancy French restaurant to give us the privacy we need to discuss our most urgent issues concerning the two packs. There are no prying ears and eyes except for our Betas, and they will only be around this time to keep guard.
Picking up Elden and Flora proved to be a bit tricky, though, as most of Liam’s siblings noticed our presence and were eager to say hello.
“Annie!” Aurelia rushes toward me and pulls me into a hug.
“Goddess, Aurelia, you got some muscles,” I point out, amazed. She looks so fit, even more so than Harmony and Ella.
“You haven’t even seen my abs,” she grins.
“Hopefully, I will never piss you off,” I joke.
“I highly doubt it,” she beams at me.
Finn joins our chat too. He doesn’t hug me, though. He’s never touchy with me except for that last time we met. Actually, he also hardly ever hugs Celine and Ella. In a way, he respects our mates and – in Celine’s case – future mates that way, and also our personal boundaries as his friends. I’m certain he will be a wonderful mate one day.
We chat a bit before Finn eyes Liam in amusement. “I heard you watched a new movie.”
“Right, a few days ago.” Liam frowns. “Was a weird one.”
Finn grins. “What did you watch?”
“I’m not sure about the title, but it was about a bunch of people saving the world… from something.” He scratches the back of his head, frowning a bit. I should really give up watching movies with him. “One of them flew around in some sort of robot costume. And then there was one in this tight blue suit with a ridiculous-looking helmet.”
I can hardly contain my laughter, especially when Finn looks at me in confusion. “A helmet?”
“Oh, and there was a green guy.”
Finn rolls his eyes as realization dawns on him. “You watched the Avengers?”
Liam nods tentatively. “I think that was the title.”
I smack Liam’s arm and giggle. The twins save us by charging into the room. They run towards us instantly.
“So you are heading out for dinner?” Felix and Dario scoot closer to us curiously.
Liam tousles Felix’s hair playfully and hugs Dario swiftly.
“You need to visit us more often,” I point out. “The pack looks so much better now. You are invited to come whenever you want to.”
Liam nods. “No need to announce yourselves. Just drop by after school.”
“Yeah, you might not have to ask for Liam’s approval,” Elden says dryly. “But please announce it to your pitiful father before heading to your brother’s pack.”
Felix grins. “I would never forget.”
Elden raises his brows. “So, the last few times you forgot to tell me you would be visiting friends were just coincidental?”
