Raffy smiles and pecks my lips. “Then let me make you even happier by finally having you eat your breakfast.” Before I can even open my mouth to say something teasing, he furrows his brows. “And I’m talking about real food here!”
I chuckle. But he’s right, we need to eat something, and then unfortunately we’ll have to return to reality and talk to Stella and the others.
The food from last night looks a bit soggy, but it’s still edible and tastes okay. I assume we could go into the kitchen to prepare something fresh, but it’s still very early, and I don’t want to wake anyone else up. While munching on my sandwich, I keep thinking about Raffy, before a new idea comes to mind. I doubt he’ll find it funny, but I just love teasing him.
“Seeing how you’re a werewolf,” I muse, pretending to be all innocent. “Does this mean I have a weird fetish? Isn’t it technically bestiality?”
Raffy blinks, letting the words sink in first before he notices my grin. “Goddess,” he then groans. “I can’t believe you. Sometimes I want to spank your cute little ass raw.”
I raise my brows. “Is that a promise?”
“I really got my hands full with you,” he mutters.
“Good thing you have two hands,” I retort dryly.
“Yes.” He smiles. “Good thing I have two hands for you.”
*RAFFY*
I never expected it to feel so intense… being with Dave. He’s all I ever wanted. And while I had my fair share of sexual partners when growing up—all unbeknownst to my father, as he would have probably killed me for being into men—nothing compares to being with Dave.
Only very reluctantly and begrudgingly, I leave the guest room, hand in hand with my smart, kind, and sassy mate. We find Stella and Lady Portia in the living room. Esme and Hayden come downstairs at the same time as we do. Esme spots Dave’s mark immediately, her hand moving to her mouth before she lets out a squeal. Growing up, she was always pretty serious and remained in the shadows, afraid to tick off Dad. Most of the time I was on the receiving end of his anger, but I know he hit her too, whenever she voiced wanting to do something aside from staying at home and cooking.
Seeing her so relaxed now makes me truly happy.
“You marked Dave!” she exclaims. “Congrats, Raphael. I’m so happy for you.”
I smile thankfully at her. Her forgiveness means everything to me. “Thanks, Esme.” I smirk. “Can you imagine Dad’s face if he saw who we are mated with?”
She grins. “He’d beat us half-dead.”
I chuckle while Hayden’s eyes turn to an angry glare, and Dave looks equally pissed. “What a sorry excuse of a father,” Dave huffs.
“For real,” Hayden grumbles. “Mine wasn’t around much, but he would have never done that.”
“Mine was an asshole,” Dave nods. “But even to his douchebaggery, there were limits.”
They share a moment with each other and nod in unison. I have no idea what they’re thinking, but it seems they came to a mutual understanding. Dave grips my hand a bit tighter and squeezes it, while Hayden pulls Esme into a hug.
“Seems like everyone got some last night,” Lady Portia comments.
Stella tosses her a glare. “Portia!”
“What?” she shrugs. “We know they did. I don’t even need my cards for it. The rooms aren’t soundproofed. Besides, may I remind you how you screamed my name last night?”
Stella shakes her red locks in both amusement and annoyance. “Let’s stop this nonsense and have some coffee. And then we need to talk.”
“We really do,” I say earnestly, frowning when Dave lets go of my hand to greet Sugar, who comes patting into the room, his tail wagging. I’m amazed he isn’t scared of him.Do you feel comfortable around him?I ask.
Dave flinches when he hears my voice in his mind. I can see how he furrows his forehead in concentration.Yes. I figured if he wanted to eat us, he would have done it sooner. Stella said that he probably left the demon realm coincidentally, and got lost in our world, then disguised himself as a dog. He adopted me as his master, and he is still my Sugar.
Alright,I sigh, well aware of how stubborn he is.He saved our lives, after all. Seems like you two come in a package.
Dave beams.We do.
“It’s amazing that you can mind link your mate already, David,” Lady Portia muses.
Dave looks at her, confused for a moment, probably not aware of his eyes glossing over whenever he links me. “Raffy showed me how to do it, but it’s still a bit exhausting for me.”
