The whole high society? I open it, noticing it’s an actual iPad. When I arrived here, Dante organized a notebook for me. He had Dave set up his old one again and prepared it for me. It’s amazing, and I never expected anything more.
But this… this whole set of presents, and all their kindness, it’s just… I feel my eyes fill with tears. They are so nice, and I sneak out at night.
“Oh, don’t cry.” Ella hurries to me. “Don’t you like it?”
“Are you kidding?” I whisper, hugging my new bag with all the stuff inside. “I love it.”
“I’m glad,” Dante says, sounding relieved.
I can’t believe they thought I would hate these gifts. Even if I hadn‘t liked them—which I do—I would have still been so happy.
“A photo!” Dante exclaims. “Get together for a photo.”
“No way,” I groan.
“She is right, no,” Ella backs me up.
“I want a photo of my two favorite she-wolves, so get together now,” Dante says with a grin.
I giggle at his antics. For a man normally so serious, he can be silly sometimes.
“Okay, let’s do it.” Ella laughs, standing next to me and putting an arm around me.
Dante takes a few pictures with his phone before looking at us. “Now make silly faces,” he says.
I laugh, feeling something warm inside me. It’s the same feeling I had when I met Ella for the first time. Ella and Luna Annie explained to me I’m feeling a bond to her. And now I seem to feel it for Dante too.
Fuck, these wolf bonds are crazy and hard to understand.
And a bit scary.
I’ve always dreamed of having a family, and then eventually, I stopped dreaming and decided I never wanted one. I don’t want to get hurt anymore or lose someone or be left behind. And now here I am, surrounded by people I’m really starting to love.
And it’s such a terrifying feeling.

I’mintheprocessof training the advanced warriors when I can feel a mind link coming through. I’ve put up a block to focus on the training and give the warriors my full attention. The only people capable of getting through this blockade are my alpha, my fellow beta, my luna, or my mate.
Liam is currently training the elites, and I can literally hear him from my own training place. Aryanna has her day off and went on a date with her mate, Jazz. She has reminded me and Liam plenty of times that she plans to have some sexy times, so if any of us dares to interrupt her, it better be a life-or-death situation. Luna Annalise is at a luna’s meeting. Being the luna to a lycan alpha, she can technically expand her mind link so that it reaches her pack, but in case of an emergency she would probably rather contact her mate.
That leaves my own mate.

I got a call from school,she says.Heading there now.

No, you have the warrior training. I was supposed to organize something for Annie. I already talked to her, and she told me to make sure to get Charlie first.
