“Aza-” Endellion opens the door and pauses, horror in his voice. “Goddess, what’s going on!”
I turn to look at him, feeling my knees going weak. “She was looking at me,” I rasp out. “She blew something… into….”
I have no strength to finish my sentence, feeling how the darkness envelops me yet again.

The Ice Wolf Prince
*ENDELLION*
It’s like everything passes in a blur. One moment Azadeh was sitting next to me, squeezing my hand and smiling, and the next, she is breaking down on the floor with blood oozing from her nose and mouth.
For the second time today my body and mind kick into survival mode, and I automatically link Aylin. I don’t even know what I’m doing, just muttering words to Azadeh, and begging her to wake up again, to say something.
Anything.
“What happened?” Aylin bursts into the bathroom with Kilah hot on her heels. For a split second her mouth drops open in shock.
I feel completely calm, like my body and emotions numbed down. “She is bleeding…” I manage.
“I see that,” Aylin hurries to my side, and swiftly instructs Kilah to bring her some wet towels. I barely register what the two women are doing, I just keep rocking Azadeh in my arms.
“She isn’t waking up,” I say.
Aylin looks at me in worry. “Prince Endellion, we need to take her to her room. I can’t attend to her here.”
It’s like my ears are ringing. “She is not waking up. What’s wrong with her?”
Like a shadow Kilah keeps running around, before Caelan and Flinn appear. They exchange a short gaze with Kilah, and she silently leaves the room.
Caelan carefully touches my shoulder. “She needs help, Ende.”
“She needs you now. She needs you,” Flinn emphasizes, squeezing my other shoulder.
“Help,” I mutter, before I feel my sense return at full force. “She needs me.” I press her tighter towards my body, not minding the blood smearing all over my clothes and stand up abruptly. “We need to help her!”
For Goddess’ sake, don’t do that again,Caspian grunts. It was like your mind was completely blank! Our love needs us. Now!
Relief flashes on Aylin’s face. “Take her to her room.”
“Not to mine?” I ask.
“No, the air is a bit dryer in her room. It’s smaller, there are fewer things standing around, less dust,” she hurries to explain.
I nod while I follow her to Azadeh’s room. On our way, Simin comes running towards us, following right after Kilah.
Flinn meets them halfway. “Simin, Kilah, I need your help. Let’s prepare her room.”
“Someone needs to be with Alana,” Aylin says shortly.
“Nevyn is with her,” Caelan says.
“What’s wrong with Azadeh?” I ask Aylin when we reach Aza’s room. “What happened? What’s going on?”
“I don’t know yet,” she says quietly.
Kilah and Simin help me lay Azadeh down, before they send Caelan and Flinn out of the room and swiftly start to get her out of her bloody clothes. The bleeding has stopped, much to my relief. When Caelan and Flinn return, she is lying in her bed and covered by a warm blanket.
