“Ugh, that nickname is atrocious. I hate it.”

“You’ll be aite. You haven’t answered my question, my baby. What got you to drinking, and why I can’t call himDonaroundyou?”

“I wasn’t drinking… I only had a sip to attempt to calm my anxiety. And I’m not supposed to know certainthings,so I turn a blind eye. As long as I don’t know what I’m not supposed to know, I won’t be kicked out the friend group.”

“Friend group?”

“Yes. The wives’ friend group. I’m the only one single and the only… Never mind. Let’s just change the subject, okay?” I looked around on the sly, trying to spot the cameras I knew were in every nook and cranny of this mansion.

“Hold up… That’s why you over here looking like you lost your best friend? They off doing wifely shit and left the single friend to hang with the aunties?”

His taunting expressions added to my already embarrassment. It was pitiful the way I’d turned into a desperate loser over wanting to be accepted by Jisei and the other wives. I had my own motion, so I couldn’t understand for the life of me why it was so important that these ladies be my friends.

Rolling my eyes, I squared my shoulders. “Tunan! Let it go, please. I’m fine. I’m just happy to be here.”

Even that sounded desperate, Glow.

I stared straight ahead, but could feel him burning a hole in the side of my face with his piercing eyes. The aunties were definitely cutting up on the floor, and the way I was embarrassing myself in front of Tunan, I may as well join them.

Thinking back to the fact that Tunan was present, I turned and asked, “Wait, whatareyou doing here? Where is Shio?”

Tunan leaned his back on the wall next to me, his arm brushing mine. He folded his right foot back on the wall, and even that was sexy. His scent was drowning me at this point. After he answered my question, I needed to get away from this man.

“You don’t give a fuck about that nigga, Greedy.”

“More like he don’t give a fuck aboutme. I haven’t heard from him since he stood me up.”

“Glow?”

“Yeah?”

I faced Tunan when he didn’t immediately respond. It was the wrong move because his eyes were dangerously low, and my panties instantly became a sloppy mess. Fuck washing; I’d have to toss these out when I got home.

Licking his lips, he sighed. “He stood you up, or he sent the realest nigga you ever encountered to get you right?”

If I had a mirror, I was sure my reflection would resemble a tomato. I’d never been more ashamed in my life. I was so turned on by this man saying nothing but regular shit. Trying my best to get right, I chuckled.

“Real nigga. Store runner. Comedian. Driver. The list keeps getting longer…”

Throwing his head back, he laughed, and it shook my core. “You funny as fuck.” He leaned in. “But don’t forget pussy beater. Add that to the fucking list too.”

Oh, God. Please be a fan.

At this point, I could smell my own arousal, so I was sure he could. The ladies walked back in, laughter following them, but they stayed on the other side of the room. Jisei spotted me, winked, and mouthed “one second.”

With a smile that didn’t quite reach my eyes, I blew her a kiss and waited patiently.

Tunan chortled, which annoyed and reminded me that he was still next to me as he observed the interaction.

“Greedy?”

“Whaaaat, Tunan?”

“When your next food review, and where is it?”

I had six new restaurants to try before I started on my seafood series. With the way Jagoda Bay was growing, I’d never run out of places to review. If I ever did, I could hop on a flight and explore other cities nearby. I’ll even consider trying different countries too. Food was essential—I’d always have somewhere to review.

I sighed and kissed my teeth. “Needs to be tomorrow, but that won’t be happening.”
